Sometimes I think KF needs a vocabulary guide

I rarely ask what words mean (because the one time I did got autistic screeching) but yeah, it happens a lot on KF people use terms that they seem to think everyone knows.

What the fuck is a "quisling?" What is a "bugman?" And don't tell me just Google it on a forum where we've bitched about Google deteriorating (even then, "bugman" gets me science fiction stuff, which is clearly not what KF users mean).

Anyway I just think it would be nice to have a vocabulary guide. You could even be snarky about it: "Here's what words mean, shitface."

A quisling is the type of eldritch terror we saw on Ethan Ralph's pillstream last night

The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where feed and seed both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Chuck's", implying that the two words beginning with "F" and "S" would have ended with "-uck", rhyming with "Chuck". So, when Chuck owned the shop, it would have been called "Chuck's Fuck and Suck".

Unless KF has a totally different term for it, quisling is named after a politician in Norway who basically sold out to the Nazis and was put in charge of the puppet government there. Haven't seen it on KF but there's no shortage of politicians who throw their own countrymen under the bus.

A bugman is basically your urban-dwelling (or would-be dwelling) manchild who owns nothing (except Nintendo/Apple shit) and (pretends) to be happy. Used to be a more popular term until the "soy" label started spreading around fast.

I thought it referred to asian people
Yeah every time I've heard it was in relation to Japan specificially. For example someone in the "Religious Games That Don't Suck?" topic said Japanese people are doomed to forever be a nation of bugmen.

But if being a bugman just means you're Asian, then that's kind of a meaningless statement.

I think the definition Xarpho gave is probably what the poster in that thread was going for.

It's a pretty weird question. Quisling is pretty popular historical term for traitor. Bugmen is modern lingo and is rather ambiguous, it is mostly descriptive of Chinese mainland society and morphed into a descriptor of city dwellers, in particular, low trust societies.

Most of the internet lingo you can understand by context and usually the meaning is dependent on who says it.
