Sonic Movie Thread - From a Disastrous Teaser/Trailer to Not That Bad a Movie; Got a Sequel

Dude is fucking OLD. He's a good actor, but I can't see him being any character other than an old Echidna... namely this guy

Saw Sonic 2 and had mixed feelings. Sonic as a tiny baby adopted by the lame cracker cop is really annoying and nothing like the super cool Sonic from Sonic Adventure. The tone is weird, with big epic setpieces but the gayest baby violence imaginable because they're catering to the toddler audience. Also, being on Earth is super lame, like when He-Man came to Earth because they didn't have a budget to set it in the proper environment, and all the side-adventures with the fat sassy black women were tedious beyond belief. Why are there even humans in this at all other than Eggman and that princess Sonic banged in 2006?

3/10 for me. How is Shadow the School Shooter even going to be properly utilized? Will the next movie be PG-13 and have actual guns in it, or will he and Sonic become super fast friends almost instantly and team up to throw quips and preschool-appropriate violence at the cackling aging comedian who replaces Jim Carrey?

Well I see Carey Elwes is gonna be in it. Is he gonna ham it up like he did in Twister or the first Saw movie by any chance?

Get Bryan Cranston to play Eggman by the time Jim Carrey retires. While we're at it, we need Patrick Stewart to play Nega-Eggman.

Small teaser for Shadow in the third movie. Seems we've got a new logo based on SA2's.
His little ring things seem to take inspiration from the in-game model for SA2 rather than the promo art and subsequent appearences where his model was based on said sa2 promo art. They lack the little hanging off bits but retain the panels and segments.

The movie's going to treat him better than Sega, most likely.
Question is what Shadow are we going to get specifically? Because out of all the characters, he's the one with the biggest multiple personality disorder.

Are we getting "Super Power" Shadow? "Ow The Edge" Shadow? "Emo" Shadow? "Silent Antagonist" Shadow? "Smarter Than Sonic" Shadow?

or a subtle Ryuko reference

One can only dream.

Personally I'm hoping for "Unchecked governmental power can breed monstrosities and rampant revenge turns individuals into the very monsters they once vowed to protect the world from" Shadow.

Fingers crossed for the opening to be a parallel to the first movie with Shadow running an obstacle course on the ARK and racing to see Maria which immediately descends into chaos (lel) as G.U.N starts icing people aboard the ship. Like, shot for shot, Sonic running through Green Hills to Longclaw paralleling with Shadow running through an artificial obstacle course to Maria ending with both of them being mortally wounded by a band of soldiers. Sonic escaped into the ring portal Longclaw provided, Shadow escaped in the pod Maria provides. I really love that whole yin and yang thing Sonic and Shadow had in SA:2 before they fucked Shadow up forever in Heroes, SHtH and every subsequent appearance barring S06.

He's fairly well done in Sonic Prime, though he wasn't in it much until season 2/the second batch of episodes. That seems to have changed for the last batch which is coming out in January. He's like a stern, lawful neutral version of Sonic who's pissed at him for not taking things seriously (up until the point that, shocker, he does).
