Okay, so I got my hands on a few images that were apparently drawn two weeks ago. Allegedly, they were uploaded the same night that Chris finished colouring them.

Apparently the reference to Call Of Duty was due to the influence of Anna in some way.

wow where did you find these?
still, is nice to see that Chris isn't just posting something that she draw seven years ago, but actually created new content.

and it's only me, or the uncolored version of page 16 is creppy?

Just realized they're no longer friends because she fucked up Kevin game. Like ruined for life. God damn this comic gets dumber and dumber.

I'm pretty sure that the whole first person shooter thing wasn't his own idea, he's not that kind of gamer. And he got his fair share of online verbal abuse by 13 year olds already. It's funny to see though how someone who spent a huge part of his life playing video games describes a game like a middle aged housewife who tries to sound like she knows what she's talking about.

Thanks for sharing this, at the very least it now proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that these comics were drawn up very recently.

I'm curious how you managed to get hold of them but I'd rather you kept quiet and didn't compromise anything than satisfied our cravings for instant answers.

Apparently Chris is okay with me sharing these images. He just wanted them kept secret until they were finished. Or so I was told.

Well, happy to hear that OPL doesn't mind us seeing them.

Now that i think about it, @_blank_ probably described Chris' taste in video-games even better than he thought with this conversation.

[SPOILER/]

Hearing that the inclusion of Call of Duty might have been down to Anna just further backs up my theory that she's only so protective of Chris because she enjoys feeling like she has control over him and some ability to use him as almost her own personal lolcow. I know that she has been kind to Chris at times but say if Catie had tried to force Chris to include her interests in the comic book I'd imagine Anna would have been the first to jump in and explain to Chris how wrong that was.

Are you able to say what makes you think the Call of Duty reference was down to Anna Reverend Lovejoy? I will say that Chris's bizarre out of touch mother's understanding of Call of Duty had me in hysterics earlier so maybe it's not a bad thing!

Apparently Anna never told Chris what to put in the comic. Although she does play Call Of Duty, so it's a well-reasoned guess that this is why Chris included it in the comic without knowing very much about the series.

I'm amazed his writing process includes planning stuff out ahead of time.

I just figured he threw a bunch of random shit down and called it a day.

With Chris approach to life, cargo-culting, I wouldn't be surprised to know he learned artists usually send first a pencil proof of whatever the comissioner wants, to see if they're okay with it before inking.

These were comissioned, right?

EDIT: You can clearly see in the last page that there's no pencils under that.. it seems he continues to just draw without any preparation and just hoping everything will fit. Hell, these are basically the inks without color, I bet his 'art' goes from 0 to draft to final in the same piece of paper.

The role of Call of Duty in the comic was a game that a weird kid took too seriously and ended up being a dick about. That might be Chris' perception of Call of Duty.

Yeah, but he can easily toss out the pen outline and start over if he wants to.

He's barely a gamer. He just impulse buys a large number of games and happens to get attached to a few of them (Sonic, Pokemon, Guitar Hero, LBP).

I can imagine him doing so if he messes up when being almost done with a page, starting it all over again. So Chris' methods are wasteful of time and effort while at the same time being lazy and unchanged from their primitive origins. What a surprise
