has really jumped out at me so far. It's kind of subtle, but when something is traced, even if the lines are sloppy, the proportions should roughly match up when you overlay one on top of the other.
Again, if you can find anything in her pages that's been directly traced from my art please let me know, because I would have a problem with that.
Also, suing Chris sounds like the least fun way to get doxed...
Granted, I haven’t gone super photoshop cop on his version of Rosechu’s story, but comparing the two, I think it’s obvious that he has traced the vast majority of it.
Especially considering:
*
The speed at which he’s churning out these pages.
*
The drastic improvement in quality. Notice for example how the usual Chris characteristic: Limbs that aren’t the same thickness/length is almost completely gone.
*
Composition is entirely the same.
As far as I can tell, he has traced the outline of characters, etc. of every panel in your comic, and in some places copied the details (facial expressions, etc.) by hand, and in other places traced those too.
If anyone would have the time and energy to superimpose the two versions, or put the same panel nest to each other, I think it would be obvious.
Btw: One of the interesting things about this comic, is to compare the two versions and look at the few places where Chris deviated from Trickie’s original.
(And pretty much every time he did that, he made it worse, lol!)
For example:
*
Trickie’s Sonichu: Comes across as kind of dim witted. He’s the classic dumbass with a kind heart character. The flawed Sonichu is likable and actually kinda interesting.
*
Chris’s Sonichu: Chris actively avoids any hint of Sonichu not being that bright, and totally changes the dynamic of when Sonichu balances a spoon on his nose. Rather than using it to show that he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer, in Chris’s version he does it to cheer up a person he’s literally just met, which is kinda creepy. Sonichu trying to find some need to fill for Rosechu also comes across as kinda stalkerish and creepy.
*
Trickie’s kitchen scene: Kel pulls Rosechu out in the kitchen, and explains why she needs her help. Sonichu is rare, professor wont be back for a while, we need him to stay till then. Everyone’s motivations are explained, and we get some exposition. Good stuff!
*
Chris’s kitchen scene: Chris removes most of that scene and replaces it with an unnecessary mini-Sonichu adventure. A few snippets of dialogue from the original remain, but they don’t really make any sense in isolation. Why do they invite Sonichu to stay then? Who knows. They just do! Because reasons.
Personally I find it quite remarkable that Chris, despite having watched tens of thousands of hours of TV shows and reading comics,
still has no idea on how to tell a story. And in fact, given a great story to copy, manages to derail it in the first few pages!
