I took the liberty of overlaying some of @Trickie 's original panels with Chris', in order to see if he actually trades, or just used it as inspiration.

It looks to me like he did trace, especially when trying to draw Kel or Rosechu, with Sonichu being harder to identify. This doesn't even cover all of the tracing because some panels were just too far gone to properly see how much Chris traced, but I think he did overall. The quality and exact similarities are too large to be simple coincidence.

Although, this whole thing did give me an excuse to read all of Rosechu's Story again, which I couldn't say no too, so that was nice.

That’s some excellent autistic forensics right there!

And yes, def. traced. Similarities are just too big to explain otherwise, and Chris isn’t nowhere good enough to copy it in that much detail without tracing.

This is quite damning evidence... Just as I suspected earlier. When he's done tracing and stealing, he will revert back to his shitty art style. I'm not anticipating any increase in artistic quality due to this "Tracing Saga" or what ever it ends up being called.. I'm surprisingly disappointed in Chris despite having very little expectations to begin with. I guess the prospect of his artistic abilities having increased was the unrealistic expectation which leaves me feeling disappointed.

I knew he traced by looking at the two comics and comparing them. That he can't stay on or in lines even while tracing shows how little he improved in all this time. Art is just not one of his talents. So, @Trickie, what now? Will you tell him that this is against what you gave him permission to do? It's quite obvious to me that he gives a shit about your wishes.

I don't think Chris is TRACING it. But I also don't think that just copying the comic is helping him or Trickie in any way. If you put them side by side they are the exact same thing minus a couple of comments he put as extra. It wouldn't hurt to tell Chris that "Hey, I told you that you could get inspiration from it, but not copy it entirely" but if you're cool with him doing it and possibly profiting from your work then I won't complain.

I just feel like this little "Director's Cut" he doing makes his comic look good without the effort. Just wait, when Chris is done with the thing he'll throw you by the side and say that your comic is a rip-off of his original world.

I'm pretty convinced by that layover comparison that he is tracing. There's no way Chris could get the consistency in sizes of limbs/heads/height and proportions correct otherwise. He never has, and he's only able to now because I'm sure he's tracing.

You don’t have to think he’s tracing, you can clearly see it. Look at the overlay. Or Rosechu’s eye area in the latest comic.

Look at the faces in pretty much every panel. Clear lines, totally unlike his regular faces. Look at the arms and legs in every panel, and how they oddly match Tricky’s.

For more tracing, look at Rosechu’s eye area. (And probably the entire face and body. Didn’t check that close.)

You gotta love how Chris acts like this isn’t something that literally only he gives a shit about. As if this is some epic love story told and retold time and time again, ala Caesar and Cleopatra.

:story:

I'm sure people will still argue because it deosn't fit 100%. Totally ignoring his inability to draw consistent even when copying.

@Trickie if you let him off the hook you might as well give him toy money too and expect nothing in return

In reality, there’s not a whole lot @Trickie can do about it, that doesn’t quickly become more trouble than it’s worth.

(Though yeah, it would be hilarious if she revoked her permission.)

She definitely can, and should let Chris know that what he did isn’t ok with her.

I’m obviously not her, but if I was, I’d be seriously pissed off. She was incredibly fair and generous and said: “Sure, you can use my story. You can even copy the way I drew it and my dialogue. Just, please credit me and don’t outright trace my work!”

Chris: “Mhmm yeah ok...” /Starts tracing.

Plagurism like this pisses me off. I know chris's ego could span multiple universes, so he probably thinks stealing Trickie's content is okay since its a remake of his own but this is just shameless. It shows that he can't even create his own comics anymore, he'd prefer if someone else made them so he could downgrade them into his 'canon' series. So much of the redrawn comic looks a step up from his usual style, almost like he traced or copied it, because we know chris and artistic improvement are not on speaking terms.

Trickie did a fantastic job polishing that turd of a comic into a shining diamond, and here's chris rubbing his ass with it. At least chris is agreeing, in his own heavily exceptional way, that Trickie did Sonichu better than he ever could.

Sonichu's right hand looks alright, and the heads are the same concise size. But the moment Trickie's drawing ends everything goes to shit. Sonichu and Rosechu's hands are squished, Sonichu's leg is tiny, Rosechu's leg is dummy thicc and her tail looks like a power cord. You could circle the part of the pic that was done by Trickie and the part that was done by Chris.

And we're back to normal. Shit art, rampant textwalling, and schizophrenic layout. How lovely to see that Chris learned nothing from so closely tracing studying Trickie's work.
