at least fromsoft hasnt fallen

tho i wish they'd make AC7
From software was streamlined to remove the more clunkier and obscure stuff in favour of a more streamlined experience.
You can notice even some degrees of flanderization when comparing newer games to previous ones, but is never something has heavy as other companies.
TL;DR: From was affected too, but it hasn't fallen.. YET.

so you encounter prisoners with pale bodies and nigger face.
i like to think they are just white prisoners in blackface

tbh their old stuff can get very, very clunky (look at king's field for the most extreme case), the streamlining is not inherently bad, tho it is a bad omen

King's Field is a 1994 PS1 game. Very experimenting.

I do agree with that, something like world/character tendencies and DeS upgrade system can be too clunky for its own sake, but at the same time, making a game simple stupid for accessibility is just as detrimental for the experience.

Its kind of the reason people unironically praise DS2 for having a bunch of additinal stuff that other souls games didn't, stuff like an improved NG+ experience, hidden moths, hollowing, breakable chests/door and ascetics.
Not everything worked (agility/soul memory), but people still wishes some of the things I listed came back to newer releases.
I also want to say that I absolutely loathe the upgrade systems in that DS2, DS3, ER, and wish we got back to the one in DS1, with the addition of a pure bladestone stand-in.

technically Gamefreak could also just not make garbage for once and completely turn this around by actually putting in a minimum of effort,
They only do that with titles that are NOT Pokemon related

The children yearn for a King's Field 5. I've tried as many of the so-called "kingslikes" as I can get my hands on and none of them are as good as King's Field 4.
On a separate note, the Verho curse of faces game is very good in its own right, MUCH better than Troonacid. There's a demo available.

I kind of wonder if Sony planned for bluepoint to remake/remaster bloodborne before releasing it on pc. I say this because porting over the game wouldn't have even been that difficult seeing as how there are already windows builds of the full game; one of the artist for the game accidentally posted a screenshot that's name contained "SPRJ-win64" , this indicates that it's a windows version using the debug camera. While this doesn't confirm that it's running on windows, it's more likely the artist was taking screenshots on a windows build rather than using a devkit console to take screenshots.

Wish they'd do more with AC6, though chances are they'd make something like a FA and VA with 6 since that's how they always were. But with games increasing in price but lowering in quality I would rather they go the expansion path.

Is that so?

I liked the story and soundtrack, at least.
It's hilarious how closely associated GF is with Pokemon that when they make other games, no one knows about it. I barely heard of this game past a whisper, and even then it wasn't good. I still see people that see GF's newest game and go "that's the Pokemon guys?!" Either that game will be a wakeup call for people to want better quality Pokemon games (lol no, I've people argue that Pokemon should be low quality) or most people won't even realize it's a GF game.
Oh wait, this is a Sony thread.

its extremely clunky even for a 1994 ps1 game

More than Alone in the Dark? The 1992 game, not the remake.

King's Field IV is even more archaic if considered by 2001 standards, the game released in the PS2, a system that shipped a with dual analog controller by default and somehow the game was made to only recognize the left analog as a mirror input of the d-pad, the right analog does nothing. Talk about backwards thinking.

Thank God there was the option to remap inputs, I turned the face buttons into a pseudo-right stick and shoulders as the actions buttons to moderately play the game with a semblance of a modern control scheme.

At the time, it was an indicator that Sword/Shield wasn’t a fluke and GF really doesn’t know how to program 3D console games.

It’s not like there’s anything worth talking about with them right now.
