Oh boy... so what, is the jeet MC gay or something? Will there be a gay jeet sex scene? :story:

Add it to the "things people will write 50 articles about the hypothetical of any other company doing, but will ignore when sony actually DOES it" pile. PS4 and PS5 digital games now need to check in with the server every 30 days, or become unplayable. Likely a result of the PS5 keys leaking, making them far easier to jailbreak.
Isnt it just the PSN that is acting up again, the expire thing happen in 2022 also, but got fixed.

Certain PlayStation Games Are "Expiring" And Becoming Completely Unplayable

  • Palyststion continues to invest in this game, next playtest happening on the weekend
  • Playtesters have found the game “not fun” which is a problem that’s persisted throughout its development
"We're making a new restaurant. Our customers at our test market location keep saying the food is bland and gives them diarrhea, which is a problem that’s persisted throughout development, but we're going to continue to invest in it anyway."

Man, that’s pretty shitty. You know what won’t expire? My big ass XHD with all my PlayStation games and Sony repacks.

It's actually crazy there are more JRPGS on PC than on Sony platforms these days. They used to be the king of that shit.

I can’t defend the Vita when one of its main modding tools is pronounced “fag dick”. Vita modders gotta have that fag dick.
FAGDec. The F stands for French.

Is there a JRPG that’s not on PC? Meaning that you can emulate or buy? Wondering if there are any that are missing.
It would have to be a console or pre-Windows PC game that doesn't emulate well... I'm not sure if there really are any? Xbox emulation is rather finicky, but I think both OG or 360 emulation have advanced enough that stuff like SMT Nine, Lost Odyssey, or Blue Dragon are basically playable by now. PS4 emulation has developed quickly with Bloodborne as one of its main goals which it's achieved, so what few PS4 exclusives seem playable. From what I can find, maybe you can't play like, the PS4 version of Star Ocean 5? You could emulate the PS3 port though (well, if you know Japanese).

If there's anything you can't play on PC because it has major emulation issues, it's probably some old, obscure game on some system like the 3DO, PC-FX, or old Japanese PCs like the PC-98 or FM-Towns.

If you count emulation, it's getting to be a dwindling number of games of any genre that you can't play on PC. There are probably some exclusive to 64-bit iOS. iOS is something of a black hole of games due to its very locked-down nature and the lack of compelling games. TouchHLE exists, but only supports 32-bit applications, meaning nothing that requires a 64-bit iDevice (2012 onwards) is supported.

Then again, you'd have to be insane to release any game exclusive to iOS unless Apple was paying you for exclusivity. Almost everything gets cross-released on Android. If there are any that fall into this very specific category, they're almost assuredly not worth playing.

JRPGs are also games that take a coon's age to play, and you already have a lifetime's supply of them even if you just stick to the SNES and PlayStation libraries.

Lots of Japanese developers seem to be ditching Sony in favour of multiplat/PC.

SE got burned really badly by betting the success of the FF7 "remake" on it being a Sony exclusive, and Capcom sure as fuck isn't coming back after their refocus on the PC market keeps printing them obscene amounts of money.

I think that the PC is a growing market in Japan nowadays, thanks mostly to Steam, and with the dominance of the Switch 1 and 2 there's really no reason for the Playstation to be a thing. Once the Gabecube drops, it's going to get even worse for them.

At the risk of writing another blogpost about the golden days of mobile gaming, iOS games were a lot better pre-microtransactions when they were basically Flash games on steroids. And I say “iOS” because you have to also consider that a lot of this golden age was iOS-exclusive since Android either didn’t exist yet or wasn’t big enough to support, and most devs didn’t bother porting once that changed. But there also weren’t many RPGs that fall into this category (in fact, I can’t think of a single one), so it’s a moot point here anyway.

Microtransactions killed mobile gaming. There's literally fuck-all on mobile, on any platform, that you can just buy once and then fucking play without being nagged endlessly to buy crystals, gems, gas, turns, whatever. Fucking assholes, just sell me a fucking game and go away so I can play it.

Are there even any RPGs of any kind on mobile that don't have microtransactions that aren't Final Fantasy Tactics: WotL?

Apparently poor people are bad with money so they load up the consoles and cellphone games the most.
