How the hell can you be into retro collecting after COVID?
Seriously. The prices for virtually anything retro have been a joke since at least the early '10's but getting into it after or around COVID? A fool and his money... emulating or using flash carts (which, most of the time, are also outrageously priced) in original hardware is the only feasible way to play retro. But lets not kid us here, most people into retro are not in it for the gaming aspect and rather treat it like more expensive Funko Pops.
I will never, ever play a retro JRPG on real hardware ever again because those games are insufferable without a speedup button.
Yeah, same for me. I remember what a revelation discovering frame skipping in old emulators was. It even carried over into modern gaming for me as i play any turn-based game with CheatEngine's speedhack enabled.
But you won't be able to enjoy it as much without that revolutionary haptic feedback controller Sony couldn't shut up about prior to PS5's launch.
I think i wrote in early fall last year ITT that i haven't held a PS5 pad yet and that fact still hasn't changed. In my circle only one person caved and bought a PS5 and i'm not talking to him because of that. I'm joking of course, but i can't even remember the last time he talked about playing anything on it apart from the first day when he got it and was raving about the Demon's Souls remake.

the absolute worst part about about this whole microsoft deal is how retarded people react to it. yes sony are cunts, but ffs we're at a point where people unironically try to claim sony is responsible for shit like paid online and hence "deserves it". I'd give people the benefit of doubt and it's just some bots or shitposters, but this is fucking clown world, so they're probably dead serious.

I'm not sure though about Valve's region policies. At the very least though, I've been paying in USD with the America region despite having been stuck in Europe for over a year, so clearly its not just a matter of which regional IPs you access Steam from.
usually they don't care because they still get money in the end, but like @Epoch said country is tied to your account and changing it is a pain in the ass (at least you can change it, compared to sony's "just create a new account lul"). valve might get pissy exploiting cheaper videogame prices because it lessens their cut, but usually publishers take care of it themselves where for example russian games only have russian audio and UI etc.
there's also a security aspect because people are retarded and get cheated out of their TF2/CS drops (hence all the limitations on trading etc.), cutting down on game gifting plays into both as well.

what works tho is using a VPN to put in keys (wolfenstein for example couldn't be activated, or early on even played, being in the wrong country, think they quietly removed both at some point). that is if the seller doesn't give you a fucked key based on your payment address - like humblebundle, where you should be able to buy the uncensored version of resident evil from a fucking american website that only takes dollars, and no mention anywhere, and you only know after activation because you that's the first time steam tells you what key it is, AFTER putting it in (at least you can refund it and they remove the game from your library, so you're not even stuck with the cucked version).
not sure if steam in the meantime has implemented a way to do it themselves based on your account country, haven't bought a uncensored key in ages.

Overwatch, etc, this would include Blizzard.
lol

I just hate Sony fanboys and want them gone. Any suffering to Sony that ends these retards on Twitter/reddit/etc. is acceptable.

There is 0 reason to have a PS5 unless you have a pathological fear to PCs and the more time passes, the more obvious it is. Hell, sticking with a PS4 will give you a lot more enjoyment than a PS5 has in... lets see... 4 fucking years since it was released. The "the games are coming!" period has since long passed, it's a stripped down PC that has a much smaller catalogue of games to access than a PC.
I most agree with you except the PS5 has better load times, so it's like owning a super duper fast PS4.

@BananaSplit² Hey I bought Ghost Trick for Switch, I'm in that Famitsu!

Also, I guess courting Westerners by shoehorning gay shit worked wonders for the Final Fantasy series, didn't it?

in theory you could put a SSD into a ps4 for the same effect, but they've been intentionally gimped and the increase will only be like 30%.

The fans once again do what the multi-billion dollar corporations don't.

There is no source code available, and it says its a source port, not a decomp. Along with it being from a 2 week old account made just for this makes me think they are using illegally leaked code or something. So if its legit you might want to download and archive it.

I'm still annoyed about Take2 vanishing the complete GTA3 reverse engineering project re3, despite being fully legal.

It takes a Don Mattrick level of incompetence and fuck up to get an exec fired.
given clownworld I halfway expect microsoft to hire him just because, but then I remember he's a white male and MS isn't rolling that way anymore... unless you're an exec (just look at their "diverse" roster), so who knows...

what other activision games...?
Basically, Microsoft offered to keep everything Activision on Playstation consoles in a new deal. Sony turned that down.

This current deal, only includes COD, while everything else is presumably going to Xbox, PC, and Game Pass. So Sony fucked around, found out, and got a fraction what was originally offered.

This came out today:
British court has agreed to a 2 month stay on the CMA block agreed to by all parties for renegotiation of the CMA's grievances. Looks like the last hurdle is being positioned to come down. On the back of Sony finally signing the deal it will probably play well into Microsoft's argument with the CMA that Sony has agreed to the conditions and the merger is not unfair to competition if you finally have them coming to the table. Jim Ryan's timing was impeccable.

I tried out that Wipeout port, its pretty good. The 3d audio and reverb and doppler makes it sound really good, it even applies to the music when you go in a tunnel. Uncapped framerate is great, its buttery smooth. The only problem I have is that it still uses weird PSX culling on geometry, not an issue but it looks weird. I also did some looking into things, apparently Forest of Illusion released the source code for Wipeout PSX and PC back in 2022, although the legality is in question, so that's probably why this port does not include the source code.

I know, that was the joke, because activision doesn't really have any other games besides COD that would be valuable for playstation (or anyone else).

Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Skylanders, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Guitar Hero, >Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Starcraft, Diablo, Geometry Wars it's small but I like it, and the behemoth that is Candy Crush if you want to count mobile. I don't even like Activision, but pretending they only have Call of Duty is profoundly retarded.

Actually, Crash and Spyro aren't as relevant since the 2000s, while Skylanders died by the mid-2010s. Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk aren't as big as they used to be due to licensing issues and whathaveyou. Finally, Overwatch is as good as dead.

Look I just want that Pro Skater 3+4 remake that got scrapped *sigh*

Those are certainly some of the IPs of all time.
