A bunch of people were like "I bet you're loving the SMRPG remake"

And I was like "Didn't buy it, I replayed it back in May just before it was announced."

I'm so sick of remakes.
The way I see remakes like that, they're not meant for guys like us. They're meant for kids who think the SNES version looks too dated. And that's understandable, it's the same kinda logic behind why they keep making new episodes of Sesame Street that teach like 90% the same stuff, instead of just rerunning the same ones from the 1970s forever.

Oh, yeah for sure. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather they remake something that is nearly 30 years old rather than just upscale some shit that's from last gen.

It's just that in my case, I was like "Don't care." I'm glad Zoomers and retards who can't or won't emulate finally get to enjoy it though.

In truth, I probably would have cared more or bought it at launch if I hadn't literally replayed the game 100% a month before they announced the remake.

I would appreciate a remake of Dragon Quest 9.

I rather like the DS version but that game could use a few tweaks to get rid of some of the BS with quests and add real analog control.

Super Mario RPG is like a perfect game. OK it's easy but it's a "my first RPG." The only reason I can see to justify remaking it is for a new generation of kids, but for me it's like why even bother the original is already great.

Some regions like the UK didn't get SMRPG until the Wii's virtual console, so for those people I imagine it was pretty good. Otherwise it's more of a "cool, but I'll wait for a sale" type of game.

I disagree.

Let's take TLoU as an example. The mainline game comes out, then knowing there's a 5 year turnaround on the sequel (because reasons, hur dur long time to make games), in between that you offer TLoU online multiplayer.
that's pretty much every ubisoft game, doesn't really help them.
WoW and GTA are also bad examples for the extreme outliers they are. the amount of failed WoW-clones is quite big.

another aspect is that most ADHD zoomer gamers don't stick with games for very long. they burn through one game (in time spend, not necessary game completed), then move on. they won't stick with playing TLOU MP for years till the sequel is out.

inevitably you'd also run into the same issue live service games already run into, that you can only play so much "second job" games before you burn out, not to mention the amount of players willing to you could rope into that is limited as well.

Mario RPG Remake wasn't really worth it if you had already played the original
It's the kind of game that's very replayable, so I think the remake is a good way to shake things up for people who already replay it anyway.

It's a real one and done though, upon more subsequent playthroughs I'll revert back to the SNES version.

I'm so sick of remakes.
If they're good then I'm all-in. I just want them to have more additional content than they usually do.

Oh, I'd like to see true to the original remakes of the old point & click Lucas Arts adventure games.
The Switch version can use the touchscreen and the PS5 can use the touchpad to simulate the mouse if you want. Or I guess you can just plug a mouse into the console like a PC.
On second thought... 😒

Disc-drive expansion are £100(!!!!!!!!!!!!) each
What the fuck man?! Why even bother with this shit when the end sum still offers no savings compared to the big PS5(they are both still huge). All these completely retarded decisions, what failed business student is running things over at Sony HQ? Sony of Japan is probably cursing their american and european branches worse than Sega cursed their american branch in the 32X/Saturn era.

It saves money only having one production dye even if it takes a little more time and effort to then hook a disc drive into the unit before sale. This was almost certainly not a creative decision made in California, it was an engineering decision made in Japan. And then the disc drive has an artificially inflated price because they actively don't want you to own one but realize that officially killing physical sales would be a PR and sales nightmare.

It's crazy shit and more retardation from Sony. They still get a cut of Blu-rays sold so killing their own physical media for Playstation would be a self-inflicted wound.

What's happened to the OG phat stock I have no idea. I expected a fire sale but there is none. Unless Sony shipped the unsold units to the 3rd world before dropping the 'slim' on them, i have no idea.

I do know that the Pro will be a flop. Ain't no way they move a lot of units when the thing is rumoured to be £650+.

Memba when consoles didn't want to break the £300 mark? Memba when Sony said get two jobs to pay for the £500 PS3? Cheeky cunts have the gall to sell their 3 year old Slopstation for £500 with no games and no-one bats an eye-lid.

If you choose a PS5 Pro over a Steam Deck, you are beyond retarded

I would have gone with PC over Meme Deck, but as long as no-one buys this fucking schlock, it will be a good thing.

Imagine the price of the PS6? No wonder Microsoft are bailing, it might be their best decision they've made in decades.

This has more to do with your currency's value nose-diving than Sony overpricing stuff. It will probably be, at worst, identical in price to fat PS3s when launched in the US. You'll be paying the 150L cuck tax in exchange for the privilege of living in the UK.

You think Sony will sell the Pro for $499? Optimistic.

We have fewer niggers. It's a price worth paying.

I don't believe they will make a PS5 Pro.

PS4 Pro did not do well and made games cost more to make. The market wasn't there for an even more expensive mid gen upgrade in the best economy in my lifetime; it isn't there in this economy.
