Was Ghost of Tsushima a launch title?
Nope
-Ghost of Tsushima launches on PS4 in July 2020
-PS5 comes out in November 2020
-Upgraded PS5 version (Director's Cut) comes out in August 2021.
It was kind of seen at the time to be the Swan Song game for the PS4 but then they couldn't get people to upgrade to the PS5, so more games kept coming out for it.

Mario 64, Halo, Wii Sports, BotW, they all single-handedly sold their system despite the fact that two of the four weren't even exclusive.
If you're referring to Halo as the "non-exclusive" in that list, it actually was exclusive to the Xbox, unless you're thinking of the PC port but that didn't come out for at least two or three years after the Xbox version. Halo very much was an Xbox "exclusive" game back then and BOTW did have a release on the Wii U but since that console flopped so bad very few people actually played it on that system.

I forgot about the time differential for Halo, admittedly but I'm not conceding shit on BotW, which was in 100 percent exactly the same as Miles Morales. If PS5 doesn't get Miles then Switch doesn't get BotW.

Don't mind me, I'm just reminiscing about that time a retard ran a video game company famous for wildly popular, high-production, third person singleplayer action games, and in the middle of a pandemic, decided to invest all of his resources into twelve new looter shooters.

Judging by how the current gen played out, there is literally no reason whatsoever to buy a ps6 when it comes out.

I'm still not really sure why people bought the PS4 when it came out TBQH
It won by default. People were paranoid about Xbox One eventually adopting an always-online, no-used-games policy, plus Don Mattrick being profoundly retarded to the point of outright telling people not to buy an Xbox One and to just keep their 360 instead. People didn’t like the Wii U for a variety of reasons, an important one being that the most noteworthy games released in its first year were Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land, which were good, but not Mario Galaxy or Wii Sports good. Xbox One got a lot better over time and Nintendo eventually pivoted to the Switch, but by that point PS4 had already established itself as the “safe” choice.

I think Mario 3D world was released in the second or third year. It launched with New Super Mario Bros. U, which was the third game in the already tired New SMB franchise.

Nintendo Land had very little worth playing in single player. The most fun I remember having with that game was the one where everyone plays as a different color Toad and run around playing grabass. But that was multiplayer. Still better than 1-2-Switch, though, and at least it was free.

PS4 went in with a lot of momentum. PS3 had gained a lot of momentum near the end of its life, at a time when the entire Xbox brand was killing itself, and E3 2013 had this video to openly mock Xbox's initiative to prevent used games from running:

It was a much different era, too. I didn't envision Sony ever supporting mutilating and molesting children, nor the burning down of cities during the BLM riots. In fact, political bullshit was the last thing on my mind when picking out a video game machine a decade ago.

I have not bought a game system on launch since the Wii because I am not a homo with fomo.

Yeah, but what games did it have? Infamous: Second Son?

I remember being against PS4 and Xbox One because all of their games were cross gen shit, and then when they got exclusives they sucked ass. Everyone I knew convinced me to buy both eventually to play with them Online, but then the PS4 users never actually played games and the Xbox losers only played games at like 3 am so I said fuck it sold both and built a PC.

I get why normies bought PS4, it was cause of the Black Friday Bunduru of 2014. But even THAT only included remasters of PS3 games.

It was November 2013, exactly one year into the Wii U’s life give or take a few days. I remember it vividly because everyone was comparing a PS4+Knack vs. a Wii U+SM3DW.

If I could rate just that video as Autistic without doing your entire post, I would. Sony made a big deal out of having a basic feature that everyone else had and their mindless fanboys are still eating it up over a decade later as some epic own. Microsoft briefly announced that they wouldn’t support used games, then completely abandoned that idea a few weeks later, long before the system even released. This video is not a selling point, and it never was.

Like I said, won by default since people were more confident about its future than the other two. What, you thought people bought consoles based on what they have right now? :smug:

Wasn't so much that as weapon's grade copium:

Super Mario 3D World is the greatest Mario game of all time and I will die on that hill.

every one else like who, nintendo? or what mysterious other consoles you're talking about? you are aware in return this means even hinting not supporting what "everyone else" had was a very big deal, right?

the shitposting was a selling point otherwise ps4 wouldn't be where it is. it's also stupid to reduce 2013 to a single video, and not the conclusion to the whole RROD debacle, kinect shit, ms dropping 360 games midway, TVTVTV SPORTS TV COD TV, "if you want offline buy a 360" and sony gaining steam towards the end of the ps3 etc.

all MS had to do was not be retarded, it's that simple.
