Rumours are that Flight simulator 2024 and Halo:MCC is coming to PS5 AND Switch 2.

Why would Sony care that those games are launching on S2? Because if the S2 can play those games, it can play PS4-level games as well. With 60 million PSN users still sitting on the PS4, Nintendo has a potential of 60 million extra customers to put on top of their Switch playerbase.

We are looking at a potential nightmare for the industry where everyone jumps on the cheaper hardware of S2 - compared to PS5pro or Xbox, leaving Sony's hopes of GTA6 moving consoles - and R*s hopes of GTA 6 being a yuge hit, laid in ruins.

the first game came out in 2007, of course it's nothing mindblowing anymore in 2024. pretending "bro it was never good" is just as retarded as fanboi cocksucking, just the other side of the coin.
I played Uncharted 2 when it came out and thought it was the most overrated slop I'd ever played, with gameplay that was objectively inferior to PS2 games, but people overlooked the "push forward to win" design because the graphics were so good.

Decided to make a PCPartPicker build of a PS5 Pro killer becuase I was bored. Kinda scuffed, but it's like 50 dollars more than a PS5 Pro, which is a year's worth of PS Plus Essential either way.

The PS5 Pro has a very similar GPU to a 7800 XT. You are going to need something far better than a B580, like a 4080 Super or 4900, to build a "PS5 killer."

It just dawned on me today, during downtime, that it is the year 2025 and there is still no incentive or motivation at all for me to buy, own or gift to someone else a PS5. Five freaking years, nearly the same amount of time, save for about a few months, that the entirety of the original playstation was sold.

havent those ports sold like shit on pc?
Helldivers 2 is the exception so far. Their numbers of today are crushing the all time highs for most of Sony's ports on steam combined. Only Ghost of Tsushima and Soy of War are the ones that broke the 70k bar of all time high. Not even Soy of War: Ragnarok could broke the 40k all time high.

Edited to fix info.

Oh no, I'm not going to be able to experience seeing Niel Cuckman's self insert railing TrAnbby from behind, noooooooooo!

This trash is going to bomb on PC and I refuse to believe that the reported 10 million copies "sold" recouped its development cost, I still remember the piles accumulating in-store unsold and the copious second-hand copies available shortly after release.

lol how the hell are they going to make that work? Their servers already buckle daily under the strain of streaming all that photorealistic satellite imagery to every session of the game, and it still runs like molasses anyway even on beastly hardware.

IIRC the PS5 Pro performs on par with the vanilla RX 6800. Even a 4070 is enough to beat it.

All that being said - the B580 is still not on par with a PS5 Pro. It's roughly on par with a base PS5.

So, there's 5 or 6 classic tracks in GT7 from the old titles.

Deep Forest - no longer a tight, fast romp thru the woods for sports cars. Is now a wide track designed for GT cars. Massive straights and L shaped corners abound.

Grand Valley - completely different setting, now set on California highway 1. More thought was put into the uwu visuals of this track than rhe actual remake, so the track itself feels pretty nonsensical. You go from wide huge roads to super tight corners on what is supposed to be a winding stretch of highway, but parts of it are also banked and setup like a race course? It's OK if you cut the tunnel section out.

Trial Mountain - now super wide for GT cars, and the final chicane/sharp corner has been removed and replaced with a lazy box.

Eiger Nordwand - rally track gone. Tunnel is a pit now. Track size doesn't play well with the game's jumpy physics.

High speed ring came out rather unscathed, besides a general redesign and being wider
I never thought I would be thankful that Polyphony straight copied and pasted GT4 tracks for GT5, but here I am.

Not even DigitalFoundry states that, and they believed the Nvidia-esque marketing with "up to" 45% higher framerates (i.e, in like 1 edge case they got 45% more performance or some shit while the rest is like 30% or lower)

It's most likely a 6800. To be fair, I definitely overestimated the capabilities of the B580, but a used 6800 goes for like 300-350 bucks, which adds 50-100 to the price, so instead of 1 year of PS Plus, it's 2/3. Hopefully Intel releases the B770 soon.

I definitely shot myself in the foot by going for new parts, but so many PS5 killer videos show used parts so I wanted to switch things up. I now see why they go for used parts.
Basically, as long as you can save more money (which you probably can if you're ready to drop 700 on a PS5 Pro) it's better to get a PC. Same with original PS5.
