I was able to install Jumpstart games before I could read. That was in the late 90's. A time when computers were supposedly harder to use. If you genuinely can't figure out how to press install on Steam, you are dumber than a pre-schooler.
this, combined I spent $1200 on my gaming PC, it ends up saving money in the end since consoles charge monthly for online, anything worthwhile on PlayStation is ported over to PC, the eventually the only worthwhile advantage of consoles is that they just werk and are less of a headache to deal with if you run into technical problems (mind you this wouldnt be a big issue if the Internet wasnt flooded with AI and Pajeetslop tech support when you run into a BIOS issue or whatever), but for most people I think thats worth the headache considering the bigger library on Windows,mods,emulation,etc.You can already spend two or three hundred bucks on a GPU that plays everything if you don’t care about raytracing (and maybe even if you do). I truly believe Valve releasing their Steam Deck Home Console Editionwill open the floodgates for the average consumer at least strongly considering PC gaming.

that and the fact that developers will eventually need to sit down and accept the fact that graphics arent the be all end all, performance is much more important, im not even the most prissy when it comes to 60FPS but a lot of people arent going to care about ultra-realistic gen 9 graphics if it runs at 30FPS, for many thats borderline unplayable, Nintendo is the only company that seems to have gotten the memo and they prioritize visually appealing art style over making every tree look like its real life.
You know, I watched the Death Stranding 2 trailer. I don’t know how games will get better looking. The style and aesthetics are very tired at this point IMO. Developers are chasing diminishing returns when it comes to graphics.
