Both games are different but are kino either way. I prefer Half-Life 2 but Metroid Prime is awesome. Best way to play now is the Trilogy on the Wii or emulate it via dolphin

I legit remember watching this ad in my house thinking, “Man, now those Mall Santas look cool. They look like they’re having the time in the world.”

Fast forward today, you barely see any Mall Santas hanging out and taking pictures with families and children.

The PS1 really did bring families together in the early 2000’s. Though, I’m willing to argue that the ads from the mid to late 1990’s were slightly better, if we’re talking quality-wise.

The fine print reads that it's specifically for East Taiwan users and not anyone else, which isn't anything out of the ordinary because if they do it normally in real life, they get taken away anyways. All major platforms have similar specific rules for their online platforms just for the Chinese.

Besides the finest Chinese delicacy is corpse starch mixed with gutter oil. It has to come from somewhere. No better gamer fuel than one made from actual gamers.

Nintendo is in bed with Tencent who's just the CCP with a white facemask on that reads VIDEO GAMES.

Microsoft was actually the one who made early inroads in with the CCP.

But honestly the Clintons let China into the WTO because not only did they get a shitload of money from them, they're the entire reason why the Chinese government didn't go to shit after the Gang of Three which brought us into this modern era of Chinese bullshit. They still won't admit that letting China have access to international markets was a mistake.

The companies are just abiding by the rules set by the government, but the actual real people at fault are American career politicians.

This isn't video game related, but it relates to Sony being fucking faggots, so I'd think it deserves a spot here. Anybody remember that Popeye movie that Genndy Tartakovsky was gonna make for Sony Animation, but got canceled at the last minute? The animatic for the whole movie got leaked yesterday. Now, granted, the dumbass who found it uploaded it to JewTube, so it's no surprise that Soyny responded with a "STAHP RIGHT DERE!"

.....why? Why go through all of this trouble for a movie that you never intended to finish? With TLOU2 and TLOU1 Not-Remaster, the response towards those at least made some sort of sense. Those were for games that they had full intention on finishing and releasing, so the takedowns actually made sense. Here, though?

This is the fork in the road between liking platform exclusives and liking potential corporate stock prices more than any games or platforms that might come out of it. I have a fondness of Sony but they live and die like the rest of us.

If Nintendo started a worldwide chain of gay brothels I wouldn't say "ah yes, this is good for the switch" because I'm not rooting for the corporation to make money.

The point I was trying to make that China having exclusive asinine rules applies to every company there. The companies themselves are only bending to their whims out of the concern of being blocked from doing business there because of the authoritarian government. Having companies behave like that has been the norm.

If a place like North Korea had money companies would be doing the same to them. Saudi Arabia is another one where they have different rules that a platform has to alter due to the government there. To further elaborate there's been systems made in the past by all manufacturers that even have either software or hardware differences that are exclusive to China's region, this even continues to this current generation, but the practice already goes back decades.

There's going to most definitely going to be more scrutiny towards the CCP internationally, especially if more games do take off that originate from China and gain popularity. But they have western news outlets run interference for them like what happened during COVID. This also pales in comparison to what happens when the criticism of the government comes from inside China itself. The people at the top are so easily bothered by things like this. Things like "saving face" boil down to allowing the government to do as it pleases because someone being in a government position means they're better than you as a person.

China's end game is one where they eventually seal themselves off from the rest of the world again, but the sub servant nations of the world will still have to give them tribute. Almost like in a cyberpunk scenario where you have a floating utopia city above a slum. That's kind of the model they want.
