* Sony ponies on suicide watch knowing Game Pass generated over $2.9 billion worth of profit for Microsoft.
* Sony's getting rid of the disc version of PS5, leaving the Series X the only next gen console with a blu-ray drive (people use the drive for things other than games).
* God of War Ragnorak has gone gold. Now the Playstation 5 has SIX whole games to play (not mentioning the fact that this could conceivably come to PC within the next year).
Okay, why do I need a PS5 again? I have a Series X, a Switch, and a PC (and I'm saving up to build another one next June).

Once I get this gaming rig built, it's likely that I'll wind up ignoring my Series X too and just go full on PC. Switch emulation is apparently getting better, so I might sell my Switch soon as it is as well, so...

Why the hell is Sony getting rid of that? Is it because its more expensive to create? I dont understand why anyone would buy the digital edition. What if you get banned!? All your digital games that you bought will be gone. Or worse what if something happens to PSN. Then your Digital PS5 is just a brick.

With how elusive these things are, I wouldn't be surprised if most people just get whatever PS5 they can find. This could be Sony misinterpreting that and thinking everyone genuinely wanted a gimped console.

I believe the disk is more like the base contents of the game that also functions as a license key you need in order to get patches. I'm not sure how exactly the disk system works though. Anyone confirm or deny if you can play ps5 games without a psn account?

Meanwhile, the Series X and S are becoming more and more in stock and more readily available to purchase. Hell, they're starting to appear back in stores on the regular now that manufacturing has ramped up.
Honestly, probably the only thing I'll hate about going full on PC is having to buy a lot of my games on PC that I have on Series X over again. That's going to be a bit of a pain in the ass, 'cause I have over 100+ games on my Xbox account.

Switch emulation is pretty great, I was able to recently play all the way through Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition in Ryujinx, at 4k/60 fps with decent performance, something the actual Switch could never achieve.Once I get this gaming rig built, it's likely that I'll wind up ignoring my Series X too and just go full on PC. It's going to be so funny when Sony start rolling out their games as a service games that will be monetized so heavily despite having no appealing characters. Don;t you want to throw $3000 on a gacha to MAYBE unlock Nogbonk from Horizon?

The lack of features in GT7, and Kaz's statement of "We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view," does make it sound like that Sony forced PD to release the game early, given the long development times in past GT games.

I don't understand the white knighting for Xbox in this thread. PS5 is an unredeemable joke with only 4, soon to be 3, exclusives. But what about Xbox Series? Its situation is way worse, this piece of shit has literally zero exclusives.

Pro-consumer approaches and Gamepass on both consoles and PC, pretty much. As long as they keep filling that up with great games, I don't mind waiting while they get their first-party shit together.
Outside of 343i fucking up Halo, there's really not much to hate. No overly SJW stuff in their games, no CEO that is a dickwad. Otherwise they'd probably have their own thread.
