It's almost a meme to say a Zelda movie should be made by Studio Ghibli, but I'm not going to pretend that wouldn't be entirely ideal.
A Ghibli Ocarina of Time movie would cause wallets to fly out of the back pockets of millenials and into Nintendo's bank account with enough g-force that it would simulate the combined kinetic payloads of both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings.

To be fair to Sony Pictures, they did make that Spider-Man No Way Home movie, which is still easily the best movie of the MCU in a very long time, even if it really is only because they brought back Tobey Maguire and managed to not fuck it up. They put out a lot of stinkers, but maybe the fact that their MCU movie was better than anything Disney did with the MCU in years is part of it.
Maybe not working with Sony Pictures or anybody linked to Marvel or Disney is the preferable choice given the current state of movie performance from that side of Hollywood.
See, I’m not even thinking about the quality of Sony’s movies; I’m more confused about why the hell Nintendo would want their biggest competitor to handle one of their biggest IPs. Might as well go back to the early 90s and ask Sega to manage their marketing while they’re at it.

If the Mario movie is any indication, I’m confident Nintendo can tardwrangle 90% of Sony Pictures’s worse tendencies. Arguing that Sony’s movies are bad because “they made Morbius” is like saying Nintendo’s games are bad because they made Mario Strikers Battle League. It’s cherry-picking.

Sony Pictures is also known for Ghostbusters and Men in Black, and they've also been completely milked

Pretty much. And leaving aside Sony's debatable track record, legend of Zelda is literally "here elf boy have a sword and fuck around till shit sorts itself out". A big part of the feel of them is just fucking around, movies are just not capable of presenting that sort of narrative. And also how are they going to make this shit not look goofy as fuck for the most part. Also, whose your Link? You basically have to go with a twink unless they go fuck it and stick with Chris Pratt (and Jack Black as Gannon!)

Real actors just sounds like such a horrible idea, most of the movie will have to be a CGI fest purely due to this.

Just big name studios, Sony Pictures, Paramount, MGM, WB, Lionsgate, Universal and Disney, are very cutthroat, especially in the modern industry. Ideas for an actual original movie aren't really scarce, but they rarely make any money compared to any movie based on an intellectual property, and that's sad.

These megacorporations tend to work like this. Samsung and Apple are competitors in the mobile phone markets, but I believe Samsung manufactures some components used in iPhones. At a certain point, it's just about whatever you think the best short-term deal is.

All that said, if they can keep Amy Pascal away from it, I think there's a chance it could turn out alright. Pascal is the reason we got the woke Ghostbusters.

I doubt they'll do it, but they could cast a young and older Link, and do a proper hero's journey with it, showing Link growing into a man and saving Zelda. I don't know what actor they could go with for Link, but I'm sure there's someone who can be thin but still muscular, I guess kind of like Andrew Garfield was in his Spider-Man movies.
The costume's going to look silly on a grown man though.

Dude! Thank you for this! I used to get my fix of BD content from poorly scanned german translations, this blog you linked seems to host stuff that's a lot higher in quality than i am used to.
Well that's just neat, any other suggestions you wish to add to the pile outside of what others have posted?
Honestly, just go to Wikipedia (or Tv Tropes, or any of the other sites already listed), look up BD comics, then take whatever looks good to you and go read it for free on Read Comic Online. No need to download anything.

It's not just some components, until Apple developed their own chips, they manufactured the SoC powering the iPhone. Even to this day, Apple rely heavily on Samsung for their screens. Megacorps work with competitors because if they don't a competitor will. If Samsung decided to just not supply Apple with screens, Apple would just go to LG or BOE and all of a sudden, Samsung is out the lucrative iPhone supply market. If Microsoft didn't develop Office for Mac, another company like Google or Apple themselves will come in.

In other news Sony profits are down 29% mainly due to their chip division.

Just giant corpos copy the same formula as other corpos by chasing what popular trends they're doing, even clout chasing to get BlackRock money

It sold like 5.5 million copies. The game is gay and cringe but how the hell is that considered a failure?

Synthetic Man would probably say a AAA needs to reach for the stars and failure is they only breached thr atmosphere.

The game didn't fail, but imagine your customers leave your restaurant and the best thing you can say about the food quality is, "Well, at least I'm not hungry anymore."

Depends on projections if I'm not mistaken. Companies tend to operate based on what they think they'll get across multiple projects, moving like sharks. If it didn't meet projections that's a failure, they spent money across the company according to a figure they thought they'd get back and if they don't reach that figure it's in the red.

It's why Sleeping Dogs is considered a failure despite selling very well for a new IP. Square Enix flounders because they consistently set their projections too high and spend money they won't make.
