Sony hate thread

Back in my day, everyone and their grandmother had a PS2, but as soon as the 360 came around, everyone went "Sony Who?"

Then again the majority of people I knew and/or hung out with mostly played sports/racing titles, so make of that what you will. I only ever met one person that had a PS3, and it was a woman, and she owned it for God of War and Sonic Unleashed (because it played like God of War).

It's not just the money, it's all the trouble one has to go through to play Special Snowflake Exclusive Game. Used consoles are always a gamble, and you have to rig them up to your TV, usually for just one game. PS4's getting to be a very old console, so it's not going to run as well as it would on anything modern, if it were ported to anything modern.

Looks like PS4 base models go for around $100-150. That's about the same price they were going for seven years ago, when the PS4 was still current.

If I had bought a PS5 for PS5 games I would have been upset.
But I skipped the PS4 so it still sees a lot of use.
Probably the biggest reason I don't feel completely let down in my purchase.

Getting Max Payne 1 to run on modern PCs is a hassle. Hooking up an HDMI and a power cable in comparison isn't, unless of course, you are fat.

Even if a game runs like dog water there's solace in knowing that everyone had the same experience as you and not only did they overcome its shortcomings, they claim it's the best game they ever played. If that isn't enough to set aside whatever prejudice you harbor then it is what it is.

For me it’s also about space, I have clutter in my closets and elsewhere such that buying a new console just to play a singular game is a rather nauseating proposition. It’s why as soon as the Master chief collection came to PC I rebought it and gave my Xbone to my cousin.

I really hoped a cadre of sonyggers would leap and ardently defend the game but discounting the hordes of safe edgy jewtubers shitting on the game while dancing around the disgusting gendernigger issue, not a soul has anything to say about it at all. It has the charisma of a diseased shart. Even its target audience is gonna ignore it and contiue gooning to their overwatch dickgirl porn.

You're overlooking the fact that most console exclusives are poorly optimized and tend to run pretty badly on the console itself, which is why most people these days prefer to wait for the PC version. FFVII Rebirth for example, runs like absolute shit on the PS5. Even when you're playing the game in "Quality" mode at half the framerate, you still see lots of textures that failed to load correctly and the characters always have this weird light source glowing in their face whenever you come out of a building or structure and you always see a shit ton of pop-up textures everywhere when you're running around outside, I notice it the most whenever there's a lot of vegetation around. I seriously haven't seen pop-up textures this bad since the N64 days, and playing this game on "Performance" mode just makes everything look super blurry and gives me a headache. And to think Square Enix actually said that this game would "utilize the power of the PS5" :story:

Yeah, that's what really gets me about all this. I understand 100% the notion of throwing seemingly limitless funds into the void if it means shoveling a message down everyone's throats no matter what, but where does the money keep coming from? Like you said, each money source can only have so much cash to spend. At some point you'd think these billionaires would get sick of this seemingly "upper-to-middle-class" wealth transfer or the money printer would run out of ink or something.

If Google is to be trusted, they had about ten trillion dollars at the end of last year. Even with all these losses, that wouldn't even be a dent in a trillion, or even a hundred billion.

I bought a PS4 for my son, it was $80.
