Sony hate thread

That sucks. I did not know the Fentanyl Crisis had reached the Copium supply.
Even more hilarious/pathetic if you can remember far enough back to when persona 5 royal first released and the general sentiment was "it's ok, but completely unnecessary if you own the original release, pick up this version if you skipped the first", and only changed to "ZOMG, this is the DEFINITVE way to play and if you only played the original, you're missing out!" when ps3 emulation started picking up the pace, with p5r only being on ps4, and the original p5 being crossgen ps3/ps4.

Not a chance they'll do 4k. Apparently Cerny+AMD have been working on an upscaling technique for 8k. Cerny is a clever fella so we'll see what he can do.

No way will it be 8k native though. I can't understand why the industry abandoned 1080p when it never got to 120fps+ at Ultra settings. Seems like the definition of running before you can walk.

It is an absurd rat race with no end in sight and the reason why the AAA industry is killing itself by trying to chase a trend of "bigger number better". 4K is such an absurdly demanding resolution, it takes too much computational power to deliver a fully native image with all the new visual bells and whistles the industry obsesses about. That is why they have to resort to all kind of image reconstruction and frame interpolation techniques to "fake" what the GPU cannot deliver natively at a consistent 60 fps.

It all about image resolution because they have to push consumers into buying the 4K and 8K UltraHD TVs for the living room when in reality what'll make games feel better to play are higher framerates and pooling rates for the controller inputs while displaying the image at attainable resolution such as 1080p or generously 1440p if the developers are able to properly optimize the game.

I cannot even fathom the size of games next gen if they start shipping with 8k textures.

700gb games with mandatory 8k textures that'll just wind up downscaled on the fly when I install the game on my Steam Deck with a 1280x800 display
I figured that with my Xbox. I freed about 45gb worth of 4k textures in Gears 5 using the "compression tool" and now the game sits around 35gb. I only play the multi-player with friends so I don't see the point on having ultra high definition textures when I'm playing the game at 1080p.

It's worse than that if you consider tech like DLSS can't upscale to 4K fast enough to get 60fps. The Pro does have its own proprietary upscaling solution, but it sure as hell won't do miracles when the current ones are 3 iterations in.

We're fuckin' stuck at 30fps for some reasons.

People don't mind Black women in video games. Hell, they could even be the best part of some games.

What people actually mind, are sheboons, LaShaniquas, & negresses in general. It's like Blacks VS Niggers, you don't mind someone like Barret (FF7), Dee Jay (Street Fighter), Revan (the OG Tekken one), Zack (DoA), etc. like you would do any average DEI wokeshit nigger, or the buck stereotype you see in games like Saints Row Remake.
Dont forget the games with debra wilson in them. It's always a treat because she actually has the talent when she acts in anything. The game can be absolute dogshit ala Suicide Squad but she usually is the only one with the decent performance.

30 FPS didn't even generally suck back in the days of the PS1 when you had spectacular art direction and design for games like Soul Reaver or WipEout. Low framerates were excusable when the rest made up for it -- if it's fun, looks decent, has good controls and (as appropriate) a captivating story, actual framerate doesn't matter in the slightest. Conker's Bad Fur Day (the N64 original, not that dogshit censored "remaster") remains my all-time favorite "action" platformer and it barely held 20 FPS at the best of times.

I agree though that once you've got all that nailed down and you're looking for the next major improvement via hardware upgrades, it should be framerate you care about first.

That's the thing that annoys the fuck out of me. I remember watching her and Phil LaMarr since their MadTV days and it's nearly impossible to play a game nowadays without one of them being in it. It's wild that these two comedians are everywhere in the gaming industry yet they ended up being the ones that consistently deliver regardless of how shit the rest of the production is. I guess their film careers never took off and they really wanted to have some serious roles after doing comedy for so long, so they've just decided to take the VA very seriously. It's clear Debra got a lot of roles because she's one of the few black female VAs in the gaming industry and she has a ton of experience but I don't mind whenever she shows up, despite how immersion breaking it is seeing another character with her face.

I think i said this much earlier in this thread already but it's ridiculous that 60fps at 1080p still isn't the baseline standard for consoles. Has been for PC since forever ago, my old GTX 480 was already able to do that in most of the triple A slop of the time. This higher resolution gimmick is the worst if it is not coupled with stable 60fps. Most games look good these days, you don't need to push graphic fidelity anymore, we've long passed the point where the diminishing returns kicked in. Do console plebs even care this much about it?
As @Markorian said, i too will always pick a stable 60fps over muh resolution, so many PS4 games were already ruined by abyssmal performance and that they are still continuing down this road is a fucking joke, especially in regards to the price of Snoy's console.

IMAGINE FAILING SO FUCKING BADLY YOU SHUT DOWN YOUR GAME 10 DAYS AFTER IT'S RELEASED
THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING STATE OF PLAY
