i just built a 590 paired with a 2600. the notion that pc is this high price thing isnt true at all if you arent searching for the latest shit. hell i had a r7260x almost 7 years

I one time found a thread where someone wanted to know how to clean a motherboard that somehow got shat on. The amount of people wanting to help the guy clean it was surprising.

You know what, I’ll take that. Cheap PCs still have to be streamlined to dumbfuck-levels of simplicity and sold in stores/not exclusively through Steam, and even though I’d say they’ve made leaps and bounds, they’re not quite there yet.

Don't think they'll ever get there because a lot of people's brain shuts off the second they see more than one or two numbers in the name of a product. Probably due to childhood trauma from math class.

I built mine initially for $550 bucks. What the fuck are you talking about? I'm planning on building another one next year for under $1000. There are some good deals out there if people want to get out there and look.

Contractual obligations, I'd imagine. I'm pretty sure the APUs they're providing both Microsoft and Sony for their consoles are bespoke versions (if only barely) and they're likely manufactured in an exclusivity agreement. Just turning them loose to the public would probably violate those agreements.

That's what happened with xbox. The gamers and true fans wanted a new console, not Kinect and not the abortion that the leaked Durango specs turned out to be. The niggerfaggots shouted those fans down saying Kinect is the future and Tv,Tv,Tv was ackshually a good thing with the Xbox one.
Microsoft listened to the wrong people and Sony are doing exactly the same.

I mean AMD did release the Xbox One APU on the AM1 socket, I don't see why they couldn't do the same with the PS5 and Series SX APU.

Discord is alive and well and that's what most people use to communicate in-game anyways. You can blame censorship all you want, but everybody closing themselves off in their tiny Discord bubbles didn't help matters.

What year are we in? You could buy any shitty pre-built with a core processor made in the last 10 years and a 1060 TI for half the price of a modern console, and you will have zero issues running nearly any new game. The supposed "minimum requirements" you see on steam or whatever are in fact way above what is actually minimally required. Ignorance and a lack of straightforward information is why PC isn't stealing a significant amount of the console market, not cost.
