Sony hate thread

Don't forget about:
  • God of War: Gaygnarok
  • Last of Us 3: The Return of Joel
  • Horizon: Zero Sales
  • Astro Boy in Last of Us Land
  • Helldivers 3: Sony got me
  • Concord 4: The Last Gay Parade
  • Last of Us 4: Ellie's Bretayal
  • Marathon 3
  • Fairgame$ 3
Umm, ackshually, it's ƒ؋i₹₲₳₼€₪ 3. The devs wanted to be diverse with other currencies this time after backlash for the jingoism accusations for only using American dollar $ign last time.

Marathon is going to be DOA and Bungie by next year, at the latest, will be shut down. It is Concord all over again.
I would laugh if this is what ultimately ends Bungie. This is what happens when you go woke and boot out all the people who can make unique art for you to be replaced by DEI ideologues. But it was totally worth shitting up your games with lesbians and gay robots, right?

Well, for those people; the important thing is the message.
Idk man, but a true message could be put politics in subtle ways and mock them, everytime.

I would argue it sucked DURING the PS3 era.

There was really no reason for there to be 15 bajillion different models of the same fucking system that not only removed features, but added them back in a limited capacity.
Agreed. It was the first big mask-off moment of Sony's hubris. They went in thinking they were invincible and got knocked down a peg, and were - fortunately for them - saved by game devs who knew how to make decent games as well as reversing some elements of total stupidity (e.g.: "who needs Rumble? SIXAXIS is superi-welcome back, Rumble!").

The shocking part is that Sony fans are completely unchanged from 18 years ago - they still put Sony on a pedestal and fellate them until their jaws break.

I've already received the exclusive leaks of all announcements ahead of time (pls Sony no DMCA):

Concord 1 Remaster
Concord 2: Electric Bogaloo
Marathon 2
Fairgame$ 2
Concord 3: This Time It's Personal
Horizon: Forbidden Sales
Last of Us 2: Abbys Story
Helldivers 2 x Concord Crossover Event
Astro Boy in Concord Land
Sorry nigger. But u are wrong and gay. This is the REAL list

Hopefully I don't get in trouble by Sony for leaking this image of the state of play on the farms.

They tried that with SOFTEMU. They realized that their idiot playerbase would be fine with paying again.
It wasn't compatible with the model people were most likely to own, the slim. I remember trying it out on my slim and finding out the hard way. Intentionally making something incompatible with the most popular model then saying, "Guess no one wants backwards compatibility" is retarded. If I invite mostly people with a peanut allergy to a meal that uses peanuts, it's my fault if almost no one is eating the food regardless of the quality.
Edit: Turns out it needed an extremely obscure dongle for memory cards on the slim. This is still a service issue rather than the fault of slim owners. I had no idea the dongle existed until now.

No, their first mask-off moment of hubris was when they showcased the PS1 before launch by walking on-stage, saying “two ninety nine”, and walking away, thinking that would be enough to get people to suck them off.

I mean they were right, but only because Sega went full retard and not because of the PS1’s own merits.

They discontinued the fat PS3 and removed the Other OS feature (and backwards compatibility) because someone managed to crack and leak the PS3's Blu-ray decode keys (unrelated to any of those other features, mind you) and decided "SHUT IT DOWN" was the right option. The next firmware update removed the Other OS option completely even if the hardware supported it, and work on improvements to backwards compatibility was halted and the feature removed from all future PS3 models.

Incidentally, this royally fucked over the US Army, which had used hundreds of fat PS3s running Linux to make a rather powerful (at the time) compute cluster out of comparatively cheap nodes. Suddenly they couldn't update firmware on any existing units or purchase any new ones without the hardware literally neutering itself. They were rather miffed about that, if memory serves.
