Sony hate thread

Sony faggots are swallowing the CDPR lies that Witcher 4 runs on base PS5 at 60fps and looks as good as the cinematic 'gameplay' trailer. Which is lulzy in itself as there isn't a single second of gameplay that isn't just walking.

I'm pretty sick of games hiding behind flashy graphics as an excuse to have no interesting gameplay.

The best part about them getting excited for that tech demo is that the game is at least 5 years out. It'll probably be released on the PS6.

People have goldfish memories. I remember Witcher 3 being shown on Xbox 360 and PS3 and it was downgraded to shit. Cyberpunk couldn't run on either PS4 or Xbone and now they believe Witcher 4 will be the best looking game ever, ever, with a full open-world story and immersive quests because pinky-promise this time?

Don't get me wrong, the PS5 is a very capable and powerful piece of kit, when used right. Unfortunately, no Sony studios have the talent to really squeeze the most out of that console, and at best only a handful of studios have the talent to write a good game.

Christ ... why the fuck would they believe anything CDPR has to say about console performance after that comical Cyperpunk 2077 launch? The one where they refunded purchases by the bucketload because it didn't even really work on PS4 at all and was sub-par on PS5?

Memory of a goldfish, I swear...

And it was pulled from the store in 2020, under the leadership of Jim Ryan, might I add. With it only returning to store in 2021 with huge patches and bug fixes and none of the promised next gen content. It was basically a stripped down version.

Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 will release on PS6, with a repeat of the cyberpunk 1 fiasco but this time on ps5. I wouldn't be shocked if GTA6 repeated the same pattern.

Most of the devs studios are hiring now are DEI retards and don't know what the fuck they were doing. Devs of the past were able to take Resident Evil 2 from two PS1 discs and squeeze them into a N64 cart. This is one of the main reasons why I rarely bother with anything AAA nowadays. I'm always playing older games or indie. Occasionally there'll be something from the east that catches my eye, but that happens very, very rarely.

to be honest i don't really like how people use RE2 as an example because that game was already unoptimised for PS1 (audio wasn't compressed enough, it could fit on one disc otherwise) and the early elder scrolls games were horrendously massive, TES2 was like 450mb install size that shit was an entire full hard drive in size so unless you wanna pray that your CD reader can read it all in time, better upgrade bitch. then again what do i expect from bethesda

still surprised that optimised games are getting rarer and rarer. maybe that has something to do with almost all consoles being basically the same now outside of operating system. thanks AMD

The sad thing is this joke lineup would be infinitely better than the live service slop they shit into our faces at it. Everybody excited to see Bungie's next massive flop before their current massive flop has even finished flopping?

Have they not cancelled Marathon yet? I thought they had.

The graphics rat race continues as these companies blindly charge forward towards their own demise. That Witcher 4 trailer is pure propaganda, but they'll keep trying to pursue that level of visual fidelity and it will spell their ruin as average development times are nearing a decade's worth and costs averaging hundreds of millions. This is unsustainable, if they think they can squeeze the audience for $80, $90 per game plus DLCs, Seasons Passes and Early Access to compensate for the ever rising cost of game development they are in for a rude awakening. Costumers are going to call it quits and find another hobby, switch to PC and/or become retro gamers.

How much is Sony they going to ask for a PS6 anyways? $800, $900?

A collapse of the AAA and the console space is coming and the executives responsible for this will golden parachute their way out before the whole thing crashes and burns.

AMD is hilariously parasiting off Sony to fund their GPU development.
thanks AMD

If anything it is Sony the ones being the parasites by using the FreeBSD Kernel as the basis for the Playstation OS while contributing little back to the open source community despite how much they have commercially benefited from it.

Xbox, Steam Deck, most PC handhelds and many mini PCs on the market use AMD's chips, it is not as if Sony is their only client. They make much of their tech open source so more users and companies can freely work with it hence their popularity in those spaces, they even made FSR available to 10 series Nvidia GPUs, Nvidia's own DLSS does not work on those older cards.

Nintendo is the only one using Nvidia GPU tech in the Switch 1 - 2 and that is just a half solution because they use ARM for the CPU, meanwhile AMD can offers both functions on a single chip.

It's not the graphics fidelity race that's killing AAA studios. It's mangement bloat, wokegeld, marketing and so much other bullshit. 30 people can make a AAA game with modern tools for 20-30 million(or less). That 300 million dollar budget, probably something like 30-50 million is actual development price.
