You mean during the prerelease months of the Xbox One. It amazes me how angry people still are at Microsoft over things that were scrapped before even being put into practice.

No, i mean that fat fuck greenberg running his mouth off about games, producing none, then saying he heard the fans, only to show 6 seconds of AC 'gameplay' that turned out to be fake and on the PC.

The lies told to the industry by Microsoft during the Xbone years were disgusting because the industry lapped it up and ran defense for them. I was the biggest xbox fan up until Kinect released and Xbox should have been shut down by 2015.

There was a playable alpha. It exists. People played it. Not a lot of people played it but still. It looks really fucking bad.

Marathon - $4 billion

But remember, Sony put the price of YOUR games up by $10 because development is becoming too expensive.

Worse, Soyny thought this was the future of gaming. They were only scammed by themselves, they bought a service and labor they asked for and this is how it ended up. Nobody held a gun to their head to burn 4 billion dollars on Marathon or any other stupid choices they made.

It's impressive how many astronomical flops (released or aborted) the games industry has produced in recent years. So much so that all but the most gruesome disasters are forgotten in less than a month.

They were scammed by their own guys and still dont seem to fully grasp it, I'd love to see a full breakdown of how the money was spent and how much money was siphoned off
How often they hire a cousin/sister in law/niece etc to give a $200,000 diversity consultancy speech or some shit, you know every one of these games is neck deep in that swamp

and the cost of games and consoles increases as a result.

Imagine if Sony had reduced the price of the ps5 hardware instead of losing $5 billion in flops.

They could have sold the PS5 for $99 dollars and not lost a penny while generating all of that money back. Think about what a $99 PS5 would have done for hardware sales, software sales, PSN numbers and MAU.
Yet, Sony threw away that money and all it did was damage the brand.

Sony are the most retarded retards in the industry.

The Chinese market is a dead-end. It has one of the lowest consumption rates in the world (38% of GDP) and it's only getting worse as Xi Jinping doubles down on turning everyone into a low wage factory bug. Even the fucking Europoors with their basketcase economies suffering under a decade and a half of economic stagnation have a larger consumer market in terms of dollar value than the chinks. Two decades of globohomo multinationals trying to turn chinks into consumers has failed - they will not buy things from you. They will barely even buy things from their own domestic companies.

Ripping the bandaid off now is probably for the best. Especially since Tencent itself is being pinched on both sides by western and CCP scrutiny and probably won't be a reliable investor in the long-term anyway.

It could actually run off a standard spinning hard drive on the PC. Of course, that'd be impossible on the PS4 because the drives Sony put in them were garbage and their SATA implementations were gimped resulting in far worse performance than contemporary PCs.
