Where are the faggots who said that they're tooootally gonna release the portable version of the ps6 for $350 or possibly even less? Bring me their scalps.

Also, to everyone mentioning tariffs, I'd like to remind you that sony themselves announced just a fucking week ago that they had shifted enough manufacturing of the ps5 outside of china to supply the US and be unaffected by the tariffs. This is pure greed.

Just did some napkin math - if you put together a new PC in 2020 instead of getting a PS5, then the money you saved not paying for PS+ would pretty much cover the full price of a 5060 Ti 16 GB which outperforms the PS5 Pro.

It's kinda staggering how bad of a value proposition the current Sony ecosystem is if you do any kind of long-term cost analysis, especially now that the consoles are so expensive.

“Might as well give them a valid policy reason to have said greed and simultaneously fuck up the economy while doing so! But good thing we’ll see manufacturing reshored in the 2040s or so.”

3DO still had games. Not many, but they were there.

KEK :story:

Sony is increasing the prices of the PS5 systems in the US starting tomorrow.
  • PlayStation 5 – $549.99
  • PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99
  • PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99
I wonder if they increased the price of the not-included PS5 stand too :story:

Some look kinda interesting too.

tariffs my beloved
Sony was doing this in different regions before Trump was even president, stop lmao

Genuine/actual Trump supporters who remain; where are we on the curve where corporations bend the knee and begin to lower prices…as we were promised?
"PS5 is more expensive now, bet you're regretful you didn't let us trannies groom kids, huh? :smug:"

Kill yourself.

Ignoring the fact that most of that is the result of the record breaking recession and inflation caused by the previous administration that would have carried over to a Harris presidency? Let's face it, Harris would have been worse on every front and tell us not to believe our lying eyes. And do not forget two things: 1) Sony was raising the prices before Trump's return too and 2) the industry was prepping for a price increase anyway. They would have fleeced us no matter what.

And here you have the reason Sony gets away with increasing prices on a product that costs much less to make after many years of component prices decreasing, getting their fanbase to blame orange man instead of Sony's corporate greed right in front of them.

PC wins because even purchased games are cheaper on Steam. Plus mods.
Also PC is superior because there is more than one store. You can get your games on Steam, GOG, Green Man Gaming, the Timmy Tencent Store and the other launchers from the publishers.

Sony has made strategic shifts in its PlayStation 5 (PS5) supply chain to mitigate the impact of US tariffs, according to statements from CFO Hiroki Totoki during the company's fiscal 2025 first-quarter earnings call.

While Sony has so far avoided raising PS5 prices in the US, Totoki noted that pricing remains flexible due to multiple factors, including profit targets, product lifecycle value, shipment volumes, game content sales, and consumer sensitivity.
They straight up say they want to make more off the console and they're trying to offset the fact that the software sales are also fucking terrible by trying to get people to pay more for their genshin/fortnite/assorted f2p slop box
