Universally, when the sales figures are good, they are shouted from the rooftops. Always. They can't help themselves. That and it's part of the marketing effort (to further drive sales).
When they are not being shouted from the rooftops, when there's simply no talk about it at all (or it's being couched in terms like "user engagement count" or "units shipped"), the numbers are bad. When they deliberately dodge direct questions about the numbers, the numbers are abysmal and people are being constrained from revealing them at fucking gunpoint.
