Pokemon has the advantage of having been a global phenomenon that was mentally imprinted in the psyche of an entire generation. There is an enormous amount of retarded people that think having an obsession over a hobby is a viable substitute for a personality. Their entire sense of self is defined by Pokemon so they internalize people complaining about Pokemon as people complaining about them, it's why they get so emotionally devastated over people complaining about the newest Pokemon games. Unsurprisingly a lot of the Pokemon fanatics are often colossal faggots that post a fag flag on their bio and make it their entire personality, so all of this behavior makes a lot more sense when you realize it's just the same psychosis. I've stopped hoping that the Pokemon games would ever get better. At this point I'm hoping the games keep getting worse, it's what they deserve. In their defense, sometimes it really is the IP specifically. Just look at Pokemon.
Bioware could make a new KOTOR game and while there may be some interest because of the Star Wars IP, there's a very strong chance that game will flop like Ubisoft's Star Wars Outlaws. Larian Studios could make a new KOTOR game and there's a very strong chance that game breaks records. All these "big name studios" have been Ship of Theseus'd to the point where all the talented people that made that place a "big name studio" have been replaced by actual retards that don't know shit. Most of the time the real goldmine in the industry is the right people making the game while IPs are just force amplifiers.Something something magic dirt but this time it’s sony and microsoft thinking that the money lies in the IP itself and not the team that made it.
Titan IPs like Pokemon are exceptions where their core audience doesn't care about the quality of the product anymore, they just want the product.
