I continue to maintain they lost the source code and game assets. It's the only rational reason they wouldn't be milking Bloodborne remakes for every console and even tech stack bump. They've remade/re-released and ported fucking every Fromsoft game they've ever made ... except Bloodborne.

Somebody just rimraffed the source tree by accident and didn't have backups. That's all it is. They'd never turn down free money.
Or it's because Sony hates their Japanese games and wants to bury them as thoroughly as possible

The people who constantly sperg about Nintendo taking down every big fan game are retarded when you consider how Mario and Pokemon together make up probably a fifth or more of all fan games and rom hacks across all games combined and the actual percentage of things they take down is practically zero.

(And yes, fan games shouldn’t be taken down in general. I’m talking about the people who flood the comment sections of every rom hack with “wAtCh OuT fOr ThE nInTeNdO nInJaS!!!!!1!1!”)
As someone who plays a shit ton of romhacks and fangames, the ones that get taken down by Nintendo tend to do something really fucking stupid, or have "fans" that do something really stupid like directly tag nintendo in posts as a weird attempt at gloating, or at least won't shut the fuck up about it. "Oh, you made a pretty cool hack of breath of the wild, that's nea- Oh my fucking God, you provided a detailed step by step instruction on how to pirate a current gen nintendo game that still sells like 2+ million a year next to an advertisement for your patreon, what the fuck are you doing?"
Ones that just provide a patch and tell you to find your own rom to patch onto are safe 99% of the time.

The source code being lost doesn't mean anything, Square lost theirs for Kingdom Hearts, and probably 2's as well, but since Kingdom Hearts fans are insane they knew it would be worth the effort in sales numbers. You think that with how much a meme it is that a pc port wouldn't match the 9 mil it sold on PS4?

Not to mention that its imo. a clear sign that the game industry is in critical condition that anything new has become so shit that we are bombarded with re-releases of older stuff 24/7 (that also fail) in the first place.
Same as with all the film remakes, reboots, reimaginings, whatever, it shows the complete creative bankruptcy of the industry. This is what happens when you push out old talent and focus on "the message" over actual fun and engaging gameplay and stories. US comics are another example of that same thing, and if you look how those have been faring (in terms of sales) for the last 10 years or so the writing is pretty much on the wall for video games, especially if you take the absurd budgets AAA games have into consideration.

I remember when they race swapped a random npc in demons souls for no reason. I'm gonna chalk this up to go woke go broke because fuck it.
Soldiers and dreglings in the first archstone had a nigger variant added.
Same goes for the Prison of hope, but funnily enough, bluepoint only coloured the faces, so you encounter prisoners with pale bodies and nigger face.
They fucked the music up, too. Assholes.

Nobody ever actually liked mobile gaming, it was just better than staring at a bus seat. Phone gaming, with its cheap/free titles, killed it within a single generation.
Switch sure seemed to be a wild success. It's been the go-to platform for kids for nearly a decade, and Vita could have had that with Minecraft, had they told anyone.

It gets much worse than that, actually. There was a post compilation I saved from 8chan but I can't find right now, but it looks like they completely misunderstood the whole art direction of the game as well and basically made everything they could worse, race swapping and putting in more women is just icing. Oh, and Japanese really hated it too, no surprise there. Good fucking riddance, nobody is going to miss that studio.
I'm bit out of loop, wasn't DeS remake really faithful to the original, down to framedata of moves?
No, it wasn't, and I remember that they fucked up balancing too in some form. I wish I still had that image.

Edit: looks like someone on 8/v/ did repost the image afterall
demons soul remake compilation updated.png
No mention of balancing outside the game being easier, but I swear there was some more inconsistencies or glitches compared to the original. Might be thinking of another game altogether tho, too lazy to confirm. Either way, it's an inferior experience to just playing the original.

but it sure did pathetic numbers, and it's all Sony's fault for squandering the damn thing.
In my opinion, a pretty big part of the reason was the proprietary, relatively small, and painfully expensive SD cards. If they hadn't tried to jew the consumer with them I think the Vita would've been moderately more successful.

If you have a spare hour this video does a good job going over a lot of the differences and why Bluepoint are talentless hacks. For the most part the gameplay hasn't changed, but visually the game is a fucking disaster and all of the intentional artistry of the original was forcefully thrown away for generic shit that the Bluepoint devs thought would look cool.

Reminds me a lot with Take2 and how they take down mods related to Rockstar. It's retarded as fuck but generally they don't touch it as long as you're not using assets from any of their games, and the mods that do you have to keep it underground until they're finished, cause there's a lot of mods where the creators will promote it all over social media and in the gaming press and try to make money off of it and that's why Take2 takes them down. It's retarded but it on the people for making them take notice.

In what fucking world was Bluepoint ever "well-respected"? Schreier is a retard.
Bluepoint was loved by modern Sony fans (the ones who buy all those Ubisoft-like AAA open-world games), which only makes it even more retarded to take a studio known for “Mario in UE5” style remakes and put it on a GaaS project. But Sony’s whole strategy this generation has been like that: just keep gambling on GaaS until you hit which they did with Helldivers 2 (they don’t even own the studio tho lol). At least during the PlayStation 4 generation even if their strategy alienated a decent chunk of their older fanbase, it made more sense at least from a financial point of view

Switch won because it had Nintendo's biggest titles on it, only way for Vita to have did that was for them to have not made a PS4 and transferred everyone to the handheld. Of course, its just as likely that people just switched to Xbox instead.

I have a high end PC, any reason to buy a PS5?
Unless you refuse to use emulation for Bloodborn there’s no reason to get a PS5.

Phone gaming obviously killed off a lot of its raison d'être, but there’s still a niche for it. I bring my ‘eck when traveling for example.

I also have a steam deck. I really don't want to play a big game when I'm traveling. Steam deck is perfect for this.
