<By lowering PS5 prices… right…?

I cannot for the life of me find the original version of this meme
I'll do you one better.

the ps3 was a fucking beast spec wise. both the ps4 and ps5 fucking suck
Partially true. On paper, the ps3's specs were amazing, but the architecture was intentionally baffling in order to make porting from (but as they would find out, also  to) it more difficult, in the hopes that the ps3 would be as dominant as the ps2 and that blu ray would take off as quickly as dvd, and that due to the effort of porting, more games would be made ps3 exclusive just because it was too much of a hassle to make them multiplat. In execution, no one could actually take advantage of the ps3's true power, ps3 versions were noticeably worse than 360 releases, and sony still had to eat the cost of producing a device this powerful without reaping any of the rewards.

Wow. Looks like Sony is expecting Wolverine and GT6 to be system sellers. They think they can charge charge whatever they want for hardware again.

Nah. This is corporate suicide. It has become abundantly clear that Sony wants to die and is trying everything in its power to die.

Strap in for a $1000+ console because they just raised the price of the already underwhelming PS5 Pro from $750 to $900

You can buy two Switch 2s for the price of a PS5 Pro. You can buy an alright laptop for that price or double that price (or a few hundred less if you didn't have that high a budget as I had) than that for a pretty high-spec prebuilt PC. You can buy a few weeks supply of nothing but GROCERIES for the price of a PS5 Pro.

Sony must be praying that the AI bubble never bursts or else they wouldn't have an excuse to keep the prices this high.

This is hot off the heels of the CFO saying they've secured enough system memory to last through the end of this year and will focus on "monetizing the user install base" to avoid price increases on hardware. Probably safe to assume the prices in the digital storefront and PS Plus membership will be going way up. Hilarious that people were citing this quote as evidence that prices wouldn't go up this year sandwiched in between TWO massive price hikes.

I’ve said it before, my PS5 is essentially just a Genshin box, and that’s only because I started playing that game on my PS4 and am apparently trapped in the Playstation version (unless I contact Genshin Support, but 50/50 how that goes)

The fact a Free to Play game has far and away the most playtime I’ve put in on the PS5 is damning.

contrary to what consoletards would have you believe, exclusives aren't system sellers. For well over a decade, consoles have just been madden/nba2k and call of duty boxes.

The exclusives were always more a "Console War" thing, and anyone who still cares about that in 2026 is fucking stupid.

The draw of Console Gaming was that it was the price of a low-mid PC that the technically illiterate didn't have to finagle with - minimal setup, it just works out of the box. All 3 console manufacturers forgetting this and pricing their shit at the point where just buying a prebuilt PC is a better option both from practicality and financially is hilarious, in a sad, depressing kinda way...

Hey guys...

We got footage of Jak & Daxter Remake Pitch.

A long while back, a team was assembled to pitch a remaster of Jak & Daxter. I was asked to animate an IGC shot-for-shot, to show what this updated version would look like.

To be abundantly clear: this was NOT commissioned by Sony, nor did they have any involvement in our proposal -- this was essentially a fan pitch to try and gain their permission.

Although the remaster wasn't to be, I'm really proud of how it came together!

(Btw, if you still want a remake, like and share and let's get the word out)

So since the costs of developing an AAA games are increasing year over year, and you need more and more people to buy your game or invest in its ecosystem the apparent strategy is to price out more and more consumers so more and more of your games flop, and you have to close more and more studios.

I really would like to know that this 3D Chess move is supposed to accomplish.

Edit:
Not to mention Sony walking back on porting its games to PC. Making money is the last thing Sony's gaming division wants to do, apparently.

There will be no other console to check Sony (besides maybe the steam machine), seeing as how "Project Helix" will be a PC that costs well over $1,000. Where are console plebs going to go? Buy a switch so they can play baby games in 720p that cost $90 a pop for a lousy game key cartridge?

You can measure how upset sony fans are about any given bad news that comes out relating to sony based on the number of times nintendo is brought up out of nowhere.
