Strap in for a $1000+ console because they just raised the price of the already underwhelming PS5 Pro from $750 to $900

These people are ball-bustingly out of their fucking minds, there's actively much more things that you could buy that'd be way worth it like the PS3 and it won't even be much to set you back that far in money if you have more than what the console costs nowadays.

You can measure how upset sony fans are about any given bad news that comes out relating to sony based on the number of times nintendo is brought up out of nowhere.
I'm more so upset about the direction console gaming is headed in. Gaming as a service where you won't own your games and the only "improvements" we'll see from PS6 will be AI upscaling patches that I'm sure they will find a way to paywall.

Exclusives stop being important when Sony stops making them, Nintendo stops being a real console maker when they’re curb-stomping Sony, and I’m tapping the very-outdated sign.

Yeah I can see why it was scrapped. The remake is way more exaggerated (in a bad way) than the original.
Actually don't hate it, but Jak is a white male so of course sony said no
Project animations were seemingly done by one guy who I linked the LinkedIn of. Given that context, he didn't do half bad. I think Daxter was well animated. Jak's model isn't the best, would hope if it did get picked up, the model would have some additional work put in.

Also interesting to note this was Sanzaru games in 2019, not Bluepoint, meaning two separate pitches could have been made. Sanzaru definitely would have been better as at least Sly 4 tried.

Did they actually call controller triggers and rumble vibration bad features because Xbox had them? That's something I don't get: shooters on PlayStation use L1/R1, not L2/R2. It doesn't even FEEL like a gun trigger.
I can’t speak for shooters, but early PS3 controllers didn’t have rumble because, according to Sony, it would interfere with sixaxis. Therefore rumble is bad. The more generalized explanation is that [feature] is bad until Playstation gets it, then it’s great.

Daxter in the original looks like a cartoon character. Daxter in the proposed remake looks like the fursona of some niche and extremely deviant fetish blog.
Same thing with some of the Characters in the Crash remakes. Guess furries are the only ones who want to work on this shit.

Where are console plebs going to go? Buy a switch so they can play baby games in 720p that cost $90 a pop for a lousy game key cartridge?
“Game key cartridge” is a dumb talking point in this context given that the “fake-physical” frog was already boiled in regard to Xbots and Snoys.
Also if S2 can get more third parties to commit it could definitely sway some of the casuals towards it (that’s likely the reason for gambling on paying for a big Fromsoftware exclusive), the console masses aren’t actually that perceptive regarding fidelity/performance. Though gun-and-ball gaming still seems entirely captured by Sony for the foreseeable future.

I still contend that MLID is fucking stupid for continuing to hold that the PS6 isn't getting delayed past 2028. I don't care that Sony is already allegedly entering pre-production, it cannot be $600+ and actually move enough to volume to justify its existence. At best, Sony's brand is going to be irrevocably damaged with a high-profile flop and at worst they're going to be bleeding money maintaining an expensive inventory that won't move quickly. Neither of which is a better outcome than eating the loss of rolling up any manufacturing you've started for now and waiting for things to get sane.

the ps3 was a fucking beast spec wise. both the ps4 and ps5 fucking suck
I disagree - the GPU was a generation behind what was in the 360 and it turns out that IBM didn't know what they were doing when making CPU microarchitectures because PCs with Core 2 Duos were absolutely dumpstering on the PS3 in CPU perf even when it was new.

Eventually the Cell did get to stretch its legs a little bit around 2009/2010, but at that point, PCs were rocketing ahead to the point where you could comfortably sit on an 8800GT (a budget GPU released in 2007 for $249 and available in 2009 for pocket change) and outperform the PS3.

PS5 is probably the most 'competent' spec that they've ever released vs contemporary PC hardware.

I saw this news earlier and I honestly don't get it. They are hurting on sales recently and verified rumors about ceasing releasing singleplayer exclusive games on pc again. The only thing I can think of is they're preparing for GTA 6 where Sony doesn't have overal exclusivity but they do have advertisement priority and exclusive content for Sony version of GTA 6. I guess they're betting on people who don't own it yet to still be willing to buy it for GTA 6 and not wait a year or two for pc release?

This is called "supply and demand." You see, when your supply doesn't go down due to lack of demand, what you want to do is raise the price of the good. That way, when there is a demand, you'll make more profit! This is business 101, people.
