Let me get this straight: sony invest millions into developing games which tend to flop and makes them lose money and they are on decline. Their master move is to become psn exclusive, along that raise the prices of their consoles and then they expect people to just come into playstation when at this point youre better off buying a pre built around the same price that will give you access to more games, deals and a smoother experience.

Sony has been run by retards for the better part of 20 years now.

It's frankly a miracle they didn't peace out sooner, but then again Microsoft is run by even bigger retards, so that explains it.

I'm not even sure what they hope to gain from making a PS6?

Other than their stable of woke first party developers nobody is stupid enough to fuck themselves over financially for the privilege of being a Sony exclusive (other than Rockstar, who must be regretting their decision by now), they're certainly not going to be making any sort of profit from console or game sales, not compared to how much money they'll lose on their first party flops and on subsidizing the cost of the console itself.

It's pure rentseeking. The first party games almost always shit the bed, but there's always going to be a large segment that will want a non-Nintendo console, and along with that spend money on the digital store where they get 30% for fuck all of work.

MS and Sony are just waiting for the other to quit first, and they both have the resources to be retarded for a long time. Like WW1.

Maybe, but I don't think Sony can outlast MS if MS decides to get stuck in.

For all their faults MS is a juggernaut that dwarfs Sony by orders of magnitude. MS is worth over $3.5 trillion, Sony doesn't even break the $150 billion mark.

If they wanted to do something extra funny they could probably stage a hostile takeover of Sony.

MS can keep the zombie that is their gaming division going out of pure spite, while Sony actually needs to turn a profit sometime this decade.

Your games dont get deleted, soyny only deactivate your "loicense" after 30 days. When you go online and connect to psn the games work again. Xbox, Steam and Nintendo have some variant of this for their digital games already (and it looks like none have made this big fuzz about it). Also PS4/PS5 physical games on disc are not affected. Anyway its really a interesting situation to see unfold, all these digital only future defenders is getting a wake up call. Now will soyny backtrack this DRM after all the backlash online, or will it be up to Stop Killing Games to do something about it. Interesting times ahead.

Didn’t MS try that with the Xbox One in 2013? Then, Sony came back with the “ you can play your disc based games online “ commercial. Well, then.
