Sony is in the process of acquiring FromSoftware, according to insiders - It was nice while it lasted, fellas

The Kirby games are pretty good
I've played a decent number of them including Epic Yarn, they never really struck me as something on par with Nintendo's other titles.

Like I've also got the Kirby Anthology for Wii which had nearly everything even up to the N64, and honestly my opinion is that it's above stuff like NSMB but it's nowhere near the peak of what Nintendo has done for platformers.

I am very lukewarm towards Kirby.

Looking forward to Dark Souls (4, but not numbered) where we play as the Chosen Undead who's retired and goes on a slow cinematic journey with his son or a girl who reminds him of his dead daughter.
That's basically how Boodborne started. I don't think people would want a prequel but a real sequel.

We're down to literally only 3 things left in video games that are still worth a shit, Nintendo, Capcom and From Software and From is absolutely the best thing video games have going for it right now.

So please, please don't let this happen.

So close, Dom. So close.

Nintendo continues to be the gold standard. Level-5 is up there, too.

I'm generalizing, but you get my point, those are the 3 main pillars still holding up video games.

The west has completely gone to shit, I've heard good things about Ghosts of Tsushima, but that game's already almost 2 years old.

They've only made a couple games I give a shit about, but there goes any chance of a Lost Kingdoms remastered collection for Switch.

Level 5 made NNK which was just a mediocre rpg for both outings mostly because they can construct only the beginning and the end and forget to make a whole midpoint for a whole game.

Like even though Yokai Watch was murdered in it's cradle, their mobile stuff still has not been better.

Dom you literally have such a narrow viewpoint, that you're discarding the present just simply because it doesn't resemble the past that you you remember. Capcom's main thing is Monster Hunter which isn't even platform exclusive as a franchise.

Like when the western indie scene is active and is delivering games like Tunic. That's not a sign of poor health.

You have a record number of companies now translating titles which just 2-3 generations prior would not have been brought over to begin with like Legend of Heroes.

The live service stuff has replaced Game Rentals so people can play a wide variety of games for a monthly fee

Like calling Fromsoft "the best thing in gaming right now" makes me wonder if you did a full playthrough of Elden Ring or did you stop at the beginning area. It's still the same gameplay they've been giving us since Demon's Souls or even King's Field but just expanded. They've been pretty consistent in quality for 3-4 console generations now. Elden Ring is a continuation of that formula which started back on the PS1 and had a single lone installment on the PS2 which nobody played.

Are you just gaging shit from reading articles and feel they're some sort of reassurance? Because they're not, they're paid advertisements. Games have literally never been better across the board, they're even porting stuff that generations prior never had a proper home release.

Stop throwing the baby out with the bath water jsut because you realized feminists exist, they predate every single mainstream console outside of maybe the first Odyssey, Feminists were around for Pong and Pac-Man Fever and they'll likely still be around once the hydrogen death of the universe happens.

No Capcom's main thing is Microtransactions now....

Just like Sony and Microsoft were in a bidding war for Sega, and Sony was buying Kojima Productions...

I'll believe it when it happens. Is Sony even in a position to be buying up studios like Microsoft?

The west has completely gone to shit, I've heard good things about Ghosts of Tsushima, but that game's already almost 2 years old.
Wasn't Ghost of Tsushima basically ignored by Sony for the most part and they were surprised it got hte reception it did?

In the same way you're a Sony fanboy, Dom is a "gamer culture" guy.

He'll shit on Ubisoft/Bethesda/Activision like all "cultured" gamers do, and then claim From is the best thing in gaming (as "cultured" gamers do) when they've been copy/pasting their basic formula for forever.

I'm not convinced it's not a gimmick at this point.

Level-5 made Inazuma Eleven 2 which is the best monster catching game.

Shockingly enough, I actually agree with you here, Level 5 has not been on my radar for a long time.

I mean it's cool that something they made got toys at McDonald's, but I'm not really the audience for stuff like that.

I tried Monster Hunter Rise not long ago and didn't like it, but Capcom has still impressed me with it's recent Resident Evils despite the flaws of 3 remake.

They could easily fall flat on their face again, that dinosaur game looks stupid, I think SF6 will be the real test, but for now I give them a thumbs up.

As for the indie scene, I guess I should have clarified western AAA, but honestly the indie scene seems just as pozzed and creatively bankrupt in it's own way, I had a friend showing me Tunic but I don't like that minimalist graphics style.

I'm indifferent to Game Pass, don't have a subscription yet but it seems fine I guess.

I haven't started ER yet but I enjoyed Dark Souls and Sekiro enough to know that I dig what From's selling.

I actually did briefly play that PS2 King's Field although I didn't get far, I remember when it first came out it getting bad reviews, now 20 years later Elden Ring is the hottest shit in town.

They literally have not never been better than now, the PS2/Xbox/GameCube generation was better than now.

Show me games like Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 today, actual AA games released by a major publisher, show me something on the level of MGS1, MGS2 and MGS3, even Bideo Kojimer's games today have faltered in quality, Death Stranding was boring as shit to play.

The only stuff that's on that level today is... From Software's games! (Nintendo comes close too)

Since feminists have declared jihad on gaming all they've done is shitted up game development and game culture, I will never not be mad at the way those morons have mucked things up.

Gaming was 100% better before the dyed hair brigade showed up.

One clear example of how it fucks things up is the failure of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, the development was so fucked up by the Woke retards making it it was taken away from them, because these retards care more about virtue signaling than making a good game.

There is no "bathwater" here, they all deserve to be kicked the fuck out of this industry and hobby.

They're already mostly owned by Kadokawa. No way they'd sell. And, if they did, they'd make sure to bilk Sony for all their worth. Not that it matters much to me. I miss the old janky From Soft that made lots of weird budget titles. I'm happy they've found some mainstream success with the Souls titles, but I'll always miss things like Another Century's Episode, Armored Core and Murakumo.
