Not only that, but Synni claims that after waiting months to get birdie's BPD pills, (Which, I'm pretty sure Birdie actually has) it refused to get out of bed because of it's "depression". I wouldn't take everything Synni says at face value but it sure sounds in character.

Birdie calling abuse or threatening Synni with suicide if it didn't have access to razors seems like the most likely possibility to me.

Or, Synni just chose to ignore it. I mean the amount of shit she probably had to deal with already was enough (Birdie already not doing shit around the house, and having to work a bunch of shifts.) It's not the only time she's enabled Birdie's unwell behavior.
