Had some miso at lunch, so good.
I'm currently making soup for dinner. I would say chicken noodle, but I'm using turkey meat, turkey broth and chicken stick... so poultry noodle?
I roasted a turkey a few nights back so I threw the carcass in my slow cooker with onion, garlic, and mushrooms I picked and dried (porcini and chantrelles). The porcini are for broth flavor, the chantrelles I pick out and throw back into the soup.
So usually I make either a japanese sukiyaki style or chicken and dumplings, my husband asked for traditional chicken noodle this time though. So right now it's simmering on the stove with, the french trilogy (celery, carrots, onions), some muddled roasted garlic, diced broccoli, diced carrots (I vary sizes for different mouth feel), peas, egg noodles, and potato cubes. Spices are mostly thyme and a pinch of sage.
