Source of your Username

My username is a combination of the word Autism and the name of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Quasimodo.

Apon thinking of it I got an image in my head of a hunched over basement dweller/NEET on a computer so I stuck with it because I thought it was funny.

Appropriated it from an oddball outsider musician.

It's the dude who was the main bad in the Wizardy series of video games. He was defeated, stuck in a dungeon, and then several games later in Wizardry 4 managed to escape from the dungeon and if you got the best ending, redeemed himself like a boss. Also Wizardry 4 might literally be the nastiest and meanest game you will ever play, yet it's possible to beat it. Those who have ears to hear...

Back in the dark ages of HTTP when forums weren't a dime a dozen GameFAQs was briefly a decent place to chat about videogames. The forum structure was something like half a dozen random boards plus an autogenerated board for every game on the site (This was before LUE existed, for anyone who knows gamefaqs' chronology). Posters who were morons would be mocked thoroughly on the general boards, so outcasts would pick obscure games that nobody would ever look up info for and coopt their boards into little insular communities which tended to be rather insane and hilarious due to none of the posters having mod powers.

As a highschooler I'd search for these boards and troll them. One day I stumbled upon the board for Ducktales for Gameboy, which was the single biggest hive of weebs I'd ever seen. Waifu threads, unironic 'it's not ephebophila' threads, fuckpillow threads, you name it. One of the only threads I actually remember was some guy with a ton of posts being paranoid that the board would be discovered and wondering if there was any way to make it private.

I immediately made a sock and used it to post a link to that thread in the general forum.

The only thing larger than the saltwave was the mockery and it remains the only thing I've ever gotten death threats for online.
