South Park + Its Political Sperging (?) Thread - Season 26 ongoing!

Now that you mention white people this reminds me about the thing with Kenny's family being poor and it was always portrayed in a way that the whole joke was pretty much "look at those poor stupid rednecks, this guy probably beats his wife, why do those stupid white people have so many kids etc.".
There was even one episode where Dad was like "Kyle's dad succeded in life because he is a jew" and they went "no actually, it's because Kyle's dad is a good, hardworking person, and you are stupid, lazy, white redneck".
For an obvious reason they never did an episode in which a black character becomes a drug dealer and acts like "evil white racism forced me to do this" that ends with a point that he is a terrible person.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but probably the only time they "made fun" of blacks is that one episode about Jimmy in which there is a black gang as basically a background character that only exists so they could make one joke that Jimmy thought that the name "Crips" means that it's a club for crippled people.
You didn't watch that episode did you?

Gerald gives the "Kenny's dad is a loser hence his family is poor" line and Kyle interprets it as "kill the poor" and starts drawing up plans to recreate the Holocaust but with poor white trash being genocided, which freaks Gerald out and causes him to repudiate what he said to Kyle.

I watched it a while back, I admit I completely don't remember the part you described. I thought that they had a few more arguments, and then they just kinda agreed to be nice to each other and conclude that you shouldn't judge people or whatever.

Even the biggest South Park ballwashers screamed for years that the show was dying and unfunny because they went all in on the stupid Tegridy Weed stuff to try and sell weed irl and now are only back to liking the show because orange man bad, I don't think people would be as mad at this if they even bothered to make fun of Biden for being half dead for four years.

Judging by how much these 'Normies' laughed and clapped at the new episode, something tells me they would have had an issue with a Biden episode.

But part of the problem is that Trey and Matt DO have power to fuck with people. They pretty much got away with shitting on Family Guy and if you believe certain people, not only got Drawn Together cancelled but also banned the makers of Drawn Together from ever making fun of them.
There was an interview where Seth was asked about South Park.
TLDL: The only thing that made Seth mad about the Family Guy episode was how they ripped on his writing staff. But he didn't use the show to throw insults back like he did with the Simpsons because he respects that show. Plus, it would be hypocritical of him to do since Family Guy takes shots at everything too.
"The Simpsons took a few shots at us and we lobbed one back. Really, Matt Groening is a friend of mine. I have nothing but warm feelings about that show."
"What about South Park?"
"They...they can go to hell."

As for Drawn Together, they went out giving South Park the middle finger by making the antagonist a South Park parody character in their movie.

I don’t think they would, normie reactards are like trained seals, the whole shtick of reactors is: (thing on video happens) “oh NO WAY BRO! wow he did that!!!”
No real opinion

when they compare themselves to Family Guy, they absolutely do so with disdain, and superiority, implying they are at a higher level, and they don't even hide it. They genuinely believe they are better than Family Guy. Trey outright said, "They don't work hard enough"
lol you’re right, I had forgotten about that..! With the Manatees as well.

It IS pretty smug of them to do that. At the end of the day they’re creators and peers. It’s pretty nasty to say stuff like that, but, oh well.

To be honest, I’m not really an avid watcher of family guy (although it’s alright), but I thought South Parks episodes on it were really good, just by themselves. I thought Family Guy’s dig at them calling them fags was also hilarious.

The creators seem(ed?) to really be proud of their writing skills. I know they gave talks on the narrative flow in comedy

What they are talking about isn’t really mind blowing but it looks like a uni so I guess it’s cooler if a famous person does it lol.
Too bad South Park itself doesn’t even function like this anymore, because it worked better with its humor.

The comedy in Family guy with the cut ins operates on a different principle, so I guess that’s why the hate it so much.

Shit, really? That’s just awful

I thought they did a nice enough job with the guy who explained how he likes FG for it just being a bunch of jokes and that it's not up its own ass.

Maybe after the delayed episode they will make one on the whole American Idol controversy. Maybe some thing "Kyle Broflovski loves great Shoes/Jews"
Kyle is probably going to explode and kill PC Principal's bastards and Strong Woman and feed them to PC Principal, as punishment for turning fundies Christian on top of all of the shit PC Principal did to him in his debut season. Either that or Kyle is going to denounce Israel/go full on team Palestine since Trey and Matt need to pander to that crowd since it's no longer fashionable to support Israel and Matt Stone being of the " fuck poor Jews, I've got billions and I'm untouchable" detached from reality and hating the Jews that live in Israel and wanting to see them harmed for the imaginary crime of thinking they are better than Matt.

Truth be told I'm a little suprised they never did an episode with let's say Cartman joining pro-palestine movement and going on about how much he wants death camps for the jews. Everytime he would do that he would add "Anti-zionism is not antisemitism #neveragainisnow" and so everyone would start cheering. Then there would be a few talks with Kyle and they would conclude that "hating jews is not the same thing as rightfully criticizing israel's policy" or something like that.

Nobody’s forcing Matt and Trey to “be topical” and churn out episodes once a week. It feels like they just want to work once a year and coast the rest of the time. While most others in animation grind year-round.
it doesn't seem like more time animating an episode means the quality is better..

I still don't see how the mexican joint could've driven them bankrupt,
it ended up being a complete teardown because everything was rotting, not up to code, deadly (electric panel near the dive pool exit). during the covid infaltion period.

I am a zoomer and the only things that is funny about south park is the shitposts or the whacky stuff that happens in the show,
this is why we cant have good stories anymore
Like Kyle writing an essay about how poor people should be put in concentration camps
but the moral there was "his dad's disgust of poor people leads to the same sentiment of the holocaust"

Just to show you all how overhyped this episode is. imdb is rating this episode as the second best episode of the show behind Scott Tenorman. People really think this episode is better than Make Love, Not Warcraft, Fellowship Of The Ring, Good Time With Weapons, etc. Even if you're the biggest Trump hater, you have to admit how overhyped this episode is.

Also, the workers all unionized recently, with some sort of screen actor's union.
I honestly think Trey and Matt are fucked now. The place is already deep in the red and then the workers pull this. If I were Trey, I'd just fire these people and replace them with animatronics.

from the wiki:
The new employee compensation system removed the need for wait staff to earn tips, instead paying every employee $30 per hour, much higher than the Colorado minimum wage, $13.65

business insider says everyone makes $30/hr not just wait staff. that place is fucked.

parker and stone are definitely phoning these seasons in to avoid losing their ass on casa bonita.

That's just insane wages, especially for unionized personnel.

the wild part is that they unionized after the $30/hr announcment.
That isn't surprising. Unions are notorious for receiving the inch, then taking the whole mile.

Matt and Trey should have just shut that place down during the lockdowns, but those stubborn bastards just keep digging a bigger hole over it.
