Alright, I can understand Chris watching Family Guy and the Simpsons, because of their "humor". But I cannot wrap my mind around Chris' viewpoints on South Park. Sure it has the same raunchy humor that the other two shows have, but there are two things that make this so odd.

1.) South Park, compared with Family Guy and Simpsons, has a lot more homosexuality and male genetalia in it. Hell, it isn't even sutble. I mean, there's an entire episode of some of the characters bouncing on their enormous radioactive testicals! And let's not forget Mr. Slade, Garrison's gay lover. Unlike Family Guy, South Park has straight out said "Gays aren't bad. They should have the right to marry." You'd think a "straight" guy like Chris would stay far far away from it.

2.) And then there's Chris opinion on Eric Cartman. Anyone who's seen this show can tell you that Cartman is the embodiment of what's wrong with society. He's greedy, obese, spoiled, ignorant, bigoted, sociopathic and much much more. Similar to above, this isn't something you can miss. In fact, many of the episodes' plots occur because Cartman did something stupid and selfish. It's obvious that the audiance is supposed to learn that the things Cartman does is morally wrong. So you'd think a message so blatant would get to Chris. Through some impossible way, it didn't. By some unholy reason, our manbaby sees Cartman as a role model to emulate and that he is a good christian.

Can anyone here actually make out Chris' reasons for this?

Bingo. Watching South Park with its edginess and willingness to push the line, while still being able to occasionally "get" some of the current events/entertainment references, probably makes Chris feel like a grown-up.

The animation is probably what appeals to him, and the fact that, as mentioned, it's a "big boy" show. As far as any sort of theme, it probably flies over his head like 90% of the jokes in Family Guy and The Simpsons. That and he is too much like Cartman to see him as a villain.

1.) Chris probably ignores da homo supporting parts and Probaly just thought the homo parts were some retarded parody of people who support gay marriage

2.) he likes cartman cause he's "a true christian" because he hates homos

Sorry about the shitty grammar, I just woke up from a nap and my Brian's acting all drunk

South Park came out when he was still in high school, and was a cultural phenomenon. Cartman tee shirts were everywhere. The bright colors, youth protagonists, fantasy plots, random access humor and "edginess" make this something he would seek out regardless, but Christian is often greatly influenced by media saturation.

I think Chris watches it a lot less than he used to, but still regards it as one of his favorite shows (because it made you sound cool to say that in 1998). It's pretty likely he disregards the gay content as parody, or it possibly sensitizes him a little to it subconsciously. Maybe Mr. Garrison was a tomgirl role model.

Cartman never learns anything or grows as a person. If you start with the assumption that he's the hero (not a difficult one if you already pretty much are him) it's very easy to see how Chris watches South Park without being upset by it. Da Homos are the bad guys, the antagonists, and we know this because they're opposed by the hero Eric Cartman.

I'm guessing he doesn't get a lot of the jokes, which re-enforces his opinion that Cartman is a good guy and that gays and trannies are evil. I remember tuning into South Park when I was ten because it was a "big kid's show" I usually wasn't allowed to watch. I got none of the jokes and thought it was one of the worst shows I'd ever seen. But I later bragged to my friends how funny it was because I wanted to seem cool. And Chris has the mentality of a ten-year-old girl.

Chris wants to be-but can only dream of being-the absolute Magnificent Bastard that Cartman is: utterly unapologetic, blisteringly smart, extremely charismatic, placing all the chips in his pudgy hands.

He saw the episode about how people who held in their farts too long eventually combusted and took it as fact.

So yeah, I'm going to have to agree with everyone who says he doesn't understand most of it and believes it's a big boy show.

Cartman speaks better Spanish than OPL does.

How do you think he handled the episode where they discover if you eat with your anus then you shit out your mouth?

I think shoving food up his ass still wouldn't be the most disgusting thing he's done.

It's also not the only thing he's shoved up there. :medallion:

It's Mister Slave, not Slade. Sorry, I just had to say that.

Chrissy can ignore whatever he wants. If he thinks South Park is installing some kind of normal, positive moral in his brain, he will automatically become an Olympic-grade mental gymnast and convince himself that the message being present is something that already fits his world view.

Also, why does Chris like Eric Cartman? That's easy. Cartman is a fat, bigoted, egotistical jerk who refuses to learn from others and will whatever it takes to impose his will on other people. Chris just sees so much of himself in Cartman that he can't help but like the character. And if Chris is a good Christian, then surely Eric is too.

The important question is: When do you think Chris is going to pull out his Megatron pistol and demand Michael Snyder hand over his bag of Jew Gold?

So that's why he opted to jam the Sonichu medallion up there - if he burned it he'd never get it back! :medallion:
