I was the one who made the second if this thread is bumped for 30 days the site will get a zlig banner.

But just after I made it, KUZ changed the text to say a year. After around a month I deleted it because I didn't want to have the thought always in my mind of having to bumo this crap for a while year. Here is an image of me in the process of deleting that famous thread.

After I deleted it, the banner was added anyways. Kind of fitting since zelig is much more impactful on sharty culture than the capitan coal incident, which also has its own banner.

There is also a banner referencing the pixelplanet project which is fun for me since I worked on that a fair bit late last year.

I didn't make the OG thread, I came to the site like a week before it was made. However, I kept incessantly bumping it till others joined along... though I am probably not the only one in that position.

Add it to the post OP, I consider it a piece of sharty history. Or don't, this is all for fun anyways and I don't want to sniff my own farts.

I feel mixed about the fact that zelig won. On the one had they won, on the other now there is nothing to fight for. After the banner I started posting 'mori hoping that it would catch on, but the mods have a SEETHING hatred for it. I got 2 permas for ban evading, I had no bans at the time, which both got appealed but it is still a bit jarring. I wanted 'mori to be the next zelig but that will not be so. At least I have my thread on /qa/ that I can bump every few days.

%%Though%% I can kind of understand why there is such hatred of the game amongst the mods. Every early thread got 100+ replies and devolved into extreme homoeroticism, which I might have or might have not contributed to.

I wish it was a topic that could be discussed =( I really like the game.

On one hand, I hate when these fools wipe an imageboard, like they've done repeatedly to 1chan. On the other hand, a band of fools being able to destroy an imageboard reveals the weakness of the forum model. Either more imageboards will gain protection against such attacks, or they'll die; that's certainly a silly form of evolution.

I started this thread because I've been kind of bored and figured it'd be fun to archive the site's history in a way that isn't full of retarded fake shit made by presumably tourists. Hell, there's a lot of stuff I'd like to discuss, but I'm not sure if I should for the sake of some of the other guys involved. Nothing really serious, just OC creation circles, but I have a lot of WIP files from a variety of big and small SMVs.

I consider 'zelig to be similar to 'mori, and I don't consider either to be gay BS. The gay stuff was only to foster discussion, exactly like BBCSON.

Another thing to note... the SECOND shota-nate/CC-foid was created all the BBCSON OC creation and posting pretty much stopped. I suspect the same group of people are behind it. BBCSON became stale, but those people aren't going anywhere. I think that shota-nate and CC have mostly run their course and will be replaced by something new in a month or so. I think it would be fun to document all the specific groups of people who use the sharty, what makes them click.

I think the best part of the site is the constant novelty, the site churns out topical oc like almost no other 12k large community, and this OC is intertwined with whatever is 'hip' this week/month. Things come and go in waves, pretty much every active user places a value in novelty unlike any other community I have seen up to this point. When I saw the site I swear it spoke to me, I love it dearly but I know this will not last and it will die eventualy.

I wish the jannies weren't so anal, if something isn't fun it will be spammed for a day or two at most and then die off. Anything with sticking power means that it is fun to engage with and should stay.
