Plagued Soyjak.Party / The Sharty - The altchan born from the ashes of /qa/; also a containment thread

Honestly, this isn't the answer I expected about why so many fucking weirdos have been ruining one of my favorite pieces of Dutch-language media lately. The explanation made a disturbing amount of sense, too- it's very possible that I'm too online.
Studio Maasa and the Kolyma network are brothers from another mother. They will march in lockstep and make something beautiful.

I bet there's a fed going bald trying to decipher what it all means.

Horrifying stuff, I've wasted two evenings on the wiki and related tabs already since I found out about it this year. On one hand, the things to despise go without saying, and on the other there's a lot of great OC and (funny, if maybe played out) raids. You just don't see that much these days. The grotesque (in the aesthetic sense) absurdity of the clips and culture is something else, I quite enjoy that. You'll simply never find something as thoroughly mad anywhere near polite society.
I haven't been much on the site aside from a couple of threads, so let me ask: is there a lot of (rl) gore on there? That stuff does nauseate me a little.

They like posting TND a lot (a rapidly-repeating gif of someone slitting a black guy's throat), and it's definitely not unheard of for threads to have some other gore clips sprinkled in there sometimes, especially with the community's overlap with TriHard.

It's far from my favorite part of the community, but that's been my impression so far.

Would it truly be fair to categorize this nonsense as similar to early 4chan? My main contention here is that this nonsense is primarily occupied with bothering other, similar websites. That's different from early 4chan, which would raid websites such as Habbo Hotel instead. However, in the past twenty years, the WWW has shifted towards requiring accounts for everything, and with much stronger banning mechanisms, leading to such category cannibalism being one of the only options for these bored little idiots. They've raided Wikipedia in the past, but I don't see too much of that anymore, and Wikipedia has basic but strong mechanisms in place that are more than sufficient to stop the vandals.

So, rather than being like early 4chan, it's more like an anti-4chan, I'd think. Something like Facebook is basically the opposite of 4chan, but this nonsense is effectively cancer to the imageboard format, and I thought of that analogy before remembering the special place cancer holds in the general imageboard lexicon.

They also raid Twitch streamers - tons of compilations of these, and even a couple examples of live raid + dox threads, have been posted here before.

I'd say the comparisons to old 4chan come from a) the weird, distinct, but oddly high quality original content the users produce, b) the extremely weird and cryptic lingo and upfront offensiveness (as in gore and stuff) that acts as a newfag filter, c) the propensity for users to generate content by fucking with and pissing off other, more popular sites, and d) the userbase being made up of terminally online youth who use the site as an outlet. In my opinion, these similarities matter far more than any of the mostly cosmetic differences people have pointed out so far, as these attributes tend to lend themselves to subtly volatile userbases that go on to make headlines with how insane their antics become. Assuming Kuz doesn't destroy the site sometime in the next few years, I would be immensely surprised if by 2028 the site hadn't gotten a hitpiece or two written on it by future-ditch-fodder journokikes under the guise of combating misinformation, harassment, toxicity, transphobia, extremism, or any number of new boogeymen created in the next five years.
