Disregarding max's messages which were allegedly sent weeks before the leaks, kuz had been gone since at least 2 months prior to the leak and max/doll had been posting somewhat ominous messages about his "recovery" and "status", hinting at a medical problem since long before any of this happened. His trip to Cuba was announced several days before the leaks, and around this time Max shares a message saying that everyone should pray for kuz. Before even that, he posted this. Claiming kuz wants to do something different.
Personally, unless kuz knew what was coming, I don't see this being a made up excuse to quit. The leaks are probably behind the sudden departure but this was a long time coming, and maybe genuinely related to HIV/AIDs.
