The real problem right now is that the breadbasket of soyposting, the sharty itself, is just really shitty and unstable. Ownership is constantly passed from person to person and they all do whatever with no real cohesive vision. I joked about /nate/ being gone earlier but it really is depressing how often the janny-in-chief will open a billion new boards and then spontaneously close most of them for funsies. It kills any chance of a community forming in those spaces. I think it's one of the big reasons that the board list is just a fucking graveyard of 0 PPH boards:

The bare minimum rules aren't even enforced. /soy/ and /qa/ are SFW and yet I constantly see actual porn and 'cado posted on them. There is no standard of quality control other than bare minimum no CSAM rules. It is absolutely better than it was in 2023 but it could be a lot better.
