Space King - Original Series by Flashgitz

One thing I really like about Space King is that when we do see callback jokes, they're always really competent and highlight the funnier quirks of the team. Captain has rapidly become my favorite character in the show, but I love the way it handles Bryce and how hard it contrasts to how the show handles Chestnut:

* Captain has made no bones about stating why he finds Bryce infuriating: He overengineers his imaginations and either makes them needlessly complicated or fundamentally flawed on a basic level. This contrasts with Terry, who sticks to the tried-and-true.
* The heretic at the start of Episode 3 is, like Bryce, a member of the Flame of Space King legion.
* Bryce does disgusting things throughout the episode and you quickly gather that the Captain abusing him, unlike the abuse of Chestnut (which the group partially walked back by the end of the episode after he murdered the entire Coagulators Legion), is for the most part fucking deserved.
* Bryce turns out to be why Hatemonger got tagged for looking at Psycho-boobies. Hatemonger was, in fact, innocent.
 
Honestly I think the more time passes the more I like this show
Everytime an episode gets recommended to me I just watch it again and it's still good
It reminds me when I was a kid and I would rewatch reruns of the same cartoon episodes over and over
 
Honestly I haven't laughed this hard at an animated work since Sonichu the Animated Series.

Flashgitz are cool and I've enjoyed them for long time but the sloppa second channel (thumbnails specifically) and safe "edge" got me thinking they've signed with one of the night inc/leviathan/whatever jewtube talent agencies. I do member a vid saying they declined a deal after space king 1 so hopefully not but I'm a little sus tbh. They're buddies with slopcanyon and he is 100% managed so I dunno.

They really fell off a cliff after deciding that turning it into a gay romance fanfic was what they really needed. I guess just turning them into married gay vampire hunters instead is more appropriate for their new setting at least...

I think they're still fully independent for now and just trying to use the second channel as a source of revenue considering how ungodly expensive the episodes for the main channel are now. If I see them start respecting pronouns or getting upset at a fat women and calling her white trash over wearing a silly "I identify as translender" shirt like Meat Canyon, then I'm going to be tuning out pretty quick.

I think so long as Tom isn't sidelined, things will be fine until the show just naturally runs out of ideas or energy over time.

Yeah they do still seem cool. Been a fan since the tetris anime. They don't seem to be heavily botted like the other managed jewtubers. Just hoping papa slop (who seemed pretty cool himself when they used to do the podcast awhile back) doesn't lead them to the darkside of jewtube sloppa content.

Honestly I lost most respect for Meatcanyon after he cancelled a collab with Jontron because his reddit fanbase shit their pants and screamed at him over DARING to associate with a HECKING NAZI!!1!

Why you would willingly pander to people who hold a grudge against a guy because he quoted crime stats on a livestream almost a decade ago I have no idea. That seems like a purity spiral waiting to happen.

I haven't been paying attention to animated stuff for awhile apart from the occasional smiling friends episodes but I watched all three episodes and I really liked them. The little boys in power armor motif is pretty funny.

I'm surprised a show as able to embrace the "yeah this shit is childish and stupid and it's sick as hell" mindset without being cringe about it like "nerd and geek culture " usually is.

Games Workslop went scorched earth on Warhammer fan creators leading up to the release of their shitty streaming service, Warhammer+, to eliminate the competition. Animators either got an offer to produce content officially, or were given cease and desist orders. The guy who made that amazing Astartes short was poached by GW, which is why he had to take it down from his channel and you can only find mirrors now. The TTS crew never were contacted by GW, as far as I'm aware, but abandoned Warhammer content preemptively to avoid it. They then shifted to doing World of Darkness content, recycling characters from TTS. For example and to answer your other question, towards the end of TTS Magnus the Red and the Lord Commander of the Custodes were in a tightly knit plot, their personalities where then made into vampire hunter characters in their new series, but were changed into being overtly homosexuals (the setting is 2006, and inexplicably no one is calling them 'faggots', not even the evil vampires they captured)
