MSO has taken down tgstation and wrote a manifesto.
Resigning control of the discord was a very emotionally difficult decision. Mixed in was worries that my overreactions would be used to excuse the things I was initially mad at, and a distaste for the ever growing amount of people looking for my departure to undo everything that I ever did. I basically only did it out of a personal favor to burger, and sending this notice instead of acting out of anger is also a personal favor to burger.
I have seen how much deliberation happens for deadmining. Having my deadmin cave open within hours does not do well for my confidence that I was given a fair shake, and not the best thing to see so soon after said emotional moment. It felt like a slap to the face. because it was. Nothing would have harmed waiting 12 or 24 hours after. Everybody involved in opening that cave made remarks about how difficult of a decision that was, so you have no excuse.
I've also been reflecting back on how scriptis has acted during this and grow ever discouraged at giving him the rings. He repeatedly in PM used vulnerable or remarks about things that make me emotional as ammunition to dismiss the things I care about as just emotional fallout of unrelated events. (I remark how a tumblr comment misunderstanding me in a very mean way made me feel invalidated, 2 weeks later he's blaming that for why I care about something unrelated as me needing to get off the internet and stop letting tumblr impact my emotions) I don't know why I didn't see this for the slap in the face it is until now, but I do see it that way now. I didn't talk that shit thru with you just so you could throw it back in my face later. "I care about something a lot, therefore my opinion on it and everything else should be dismissed."
I've can't see the inability to wait a few days or a week before undoing the automods as anything other than a slap in the face. There is a two parter of TNG you should watch if you can't see how that wasn't gonna come across as anything less than a slap in the face.
and then there is the horrible way omega handled the carmine appeal.
This is why I had zero faith or trust in the DJ team to handle misandry conduct. You can't actually give men the same amount of empathy you give women. (also Boys will never adapt feminism if they keep having to hear arguments about how they have it better so have less standing to talk. Read some more bell hooks)
Anyways, the issue with the sudden 4 piece slap to the face not even a day after I gave up power, is You still need me. There are still accounts to be transferred over, billing access to setup, scriptis still don't have access to the ddos relay boxes, just the control panel, still don't have access to the aws for the ddos relay geo dns. Still don't have creds on some vms, still might need me to grant additional access for CF, still needs me for remote hands/kvm-ip/break glass interfaces if a box goes down before you replace it, and still has to rely on me to help with any sort of knowledge issue that comes up.
However I am entirely uninterested in lifting a finger to help this community if it is just gonna so quickly 180 my trust and slap me in the face 4 times over within hours. Everybody involved knew how emotional and difficult this whole thing was, and some time to recover from that before seeing everything undone would have been fucking appreciated.
So we need a path forward unless scriptis plans to be resigned to having to respond to access stumbling blocks by rebuilding that service from the ground up and risking eu or us-west going down before they can replace them with boxes on new accounts.
Edit: and I just found out wubli was allowed back on the team so ya i don't think there is a path forward.

The mere expression of the idea that "'women have it worse' is the only correct opinion" is itself an expression of misandry. There is no correct opinion here and the entire framing of arguments exploring the other direction as wrong or undermining women's equality is 1), favoring women's equality over men's equality, by giving it more tools to explore their inequality, and 2), plays into oppositional sexism brainworms that imply advocacy for one group will harm advocacy for another group.
