I genuinely think that not a single person of melanin has played SS13. It seems like the kind of game a black person would be vehemently opposed to. The only black people I know that play are actually mixed race, either le amerimutts or mulattos (usually hue hue brazilians) on the baystation downstreams. Cocincidentally they've all moved to the furry/ERP servers when they first became popular. I guess being yifffag sex pest superceeds all racial and ethnic boundaries.

I originally wrote a long post but deleted it all and just skipped to the conclusion. I wanted to answer the questions of "how did every server become a queer-dominated space despite the majority of these queers not being same-sex attracted or gender incongruent?" and "Why do spaceman troons seem different from most of the other populations?"

The relation spaceman troons have to their female identity is the same as furries have to their fursona. It is an idealized cartoon character with features they like that lets them escape into a fantasy world of comfort. Everything makes sense under this model.

No gender dysphoria
Why would gender dysphoria be required for this? Do furries experience species dysphoria and anguish at the reality they will never be a wolf?

No Clout / Attention
It's a (somewhat) private escapist fantasy. The little we've seen of spaceman troons IRL shows them as meek and wishing they could just disappear. Only a few of the ones with an obvious personality disorder give off the vibe they want attention.

Not transitioning IRL
This, like a fursona, is compartmentalized to their roleplay persona, which exists only on the computer.

When they log the computer they begin to roleplay their anime/furry little girl cartoon character before they even log onto the game. There is no seperation between their in-character "character" and the persona they use on Discord and other internet spaces. We Spaceman players know OCK ICK (when you break the fourth wall in RP) is a major social faux pas. Well, what is misgendering other than OCK ICK? It's not a surprise there are reprimands for disrupting roleplay in the game, but since they are roleplaying all the time then all of it is met with the same hostility. This is especially apparent with the rise in otherkin / plural system type users that make it clear they are just roleplaying full time with nonconsensual participants.

Why do I feel a similarity to incels?
Lots of people feel some connection between these guys and incels. Outside of deranged rapehons it's not extremely apparent. What you are picking up on is that most people would answer the question "Who is responsible for people's response to an individual's behavior and presentation? The individual, or the people responding?" with saying that it's on the individual to elicit positive reactions from people. It's these people and incels who demand that people play their roles, damn it, regardless of how they actually feel. There is not just a distaste for responsibility and sincerity, they actively loathe it.

AGP?
I actually think this is overused. They have AGP in the same way furries have autozoophilia. Which is to say I think it's a distinct but adjacent phenomenon. The lack of both gender dysphoria and AGP could also explain why they're so distinct as a population.

SS13 is ruined by the level of forced rp these freaks demand. SS13 thrives in chaos and brotherhood. Not the endless purity checks they demand. If I can mass produce explosivces and have them go off as I sing a song over comms that is funny. These freaks want super cereal roleplay where you type endless text boxes without any gameplay element to it besides the coomers and their filth. It feels like the one or two times I've tried to play dnd boring roleplay and no dice rolling or fun, No stakes, No soul

Worst case scenario, a codebase can disable hub authentication and roll their own, this is not some end times for byond.
