There had been an incident regarding the Host's aversion for age verification. Apparently the Host used to erotically roleplay while being a minor (which isn't surprising). Which culminated in a single round where one person decided to post this.
The Imgur archive is completely scrubbed, but it had logs of the Host confirming that this was true.

On one hand, I'm pretty sure age verification in the form of ID is going beyond what's legally required (never-the-less the current payment processor drama).
On the other hand, I'm not sure most people would ever be responsible about their kids, ie: kicking their asses off the internet.

Apparently there was some announcement ago about a vanderlin fork without sex dungeons and rape ( I know). Host styled it as "brightcore and not grimshart" (archive).

Granted... we've been a little upended. Vanderline and... well Vanderlane is the only competition. But let us pitch to you a fun little world, where you can Praise Psydon, capture a catgirl, get attacked by a pack of wild reptoids, and get arrested and executed for praising Psydon.

So, let me be the first to tell you that... we brought back the orphans. We broughtem back. They're now in a more whimsy filled world, begging for the three pennies you were going to give to the tavern girl Nuppy. What's a Nuppy? Well, I really don't know. But they're cute.

And to sweeten the deal. Ladies and Gentlemen. We also brought back catgirls. That's right, they're Nyanderthals.

All I ask is some patience, and in return, I will give you the fun, whimsical, non ERP, experience that a former Hippie player (one of the good ones) can provide. Also, some mods would do. It's just three of us, and three of them are just devs, so it's really just me.

Big shout out to the CM hosts and heads. They taught me everything they could about hosting and all that, I couldn't have done it without you.

His reddit name is Magenta King (Enrico), huge CM player and his recent post history on reddit who seems to have an extremely anti-erp stance.

Delisting ERP servers is the way to go. Shit wasn't delisted back when it was just Citadel with 40 players in the corner and nobody cared. Now they're everywhere, and they slowly groom new players and new coders.

People that go there, fine, whatever, they can do what they want. But I've already met at least 3 people who played on the ERP servers because there wasn't any other normal option outside of it, and are now fully corrupted. By that, I mean, they slowly allowed themselves to get into the ERP corner.

I witnessed people being groomed by a community because there was no non ERP alternative for too long. They went from "I don't care for it" to "I can't play without it happening".

I can absolutely say, without a sliver of shame, that those people who are active right now in the ERP servers are shameless perverted gooners now. I tried pulling a few out, but they're just lost in the sauce. And, they're gonna keep pulling others down with them, little by little.

If you're not a puritanical hater of ERP servers, you're going to be. I wish they could pull out and go back to normal, or at least not be addicts to little pixels bumping into each other as if it was real. I still try to pull some of them out who I consider my pals, but nah. They can't live without it.

He tries to Wormtongue every host he can into being more callous to new players and to "gatekeep" harder, whilst dropping little Freudian slips about immigration at 3 AM in the morning.

Anyways, don't do that. All the players in the Azure and Scarlet Reach pit are really just the LW community now that LW has collapsed. You're not getting anyone new, it's just the same 80 people. Not to mention if you do ID checks you have to archive it and you can't full ban a player if you have that vital information because it enters a legal gray zone where you took their identification and still have it while denying them services, and they have to have the right to delete that data, which involves you giving them a way to delete that data.

It's too much trouble, I know this because I got bored one evening, and decided to harass the Ratwood host with AI generated lingo stating laws that I wanted my ID back which an automated ticket bot had and he didn't have access to anymore. He couldn't ban me and he kept trying to reason with me, to which I just copy and pasted his responses to Grok to respond for me. I'm not proud of doing that, but I really was getting sick of what ERP has done to the community, it hit harder than crack did.

Well I dug into him and guess what turns up? Looks like he was in our sights all along!

Jax says, "Aren't you supposed to be submissive and agreeable?" to Gangle in episode 2 and tells Ragatha "She likes it when I'm mean to her." in episode 5. Also, the "figure" thing is obviously sexual in nature. Why does Jax know about that? Perhaps it's far-fetched and my mind is in the gutter, but Gangle has literally never complained about the way Jax treats her. Given, it's difficult to tell what Gangle is actually thinking because her masks seem to alter her mental state, but maybe she's kinkier than we thought? Jax definitely wouldn't directly tell anyone.

Yeh. All the RP fun lovers are on the PvE. There hasn’t been a tribals events nor any big event in years now. The staff is disconnected from the average player. Whitelist cliques have taken over and all the new content is headed their way. Most guns suck to use if you’re not doing the juggle micro shit. Which, they might contribute to the firing wall, but it doesn’t feel fun to use. Surmounted by having to deal with everything able to brutalize you because of constant checks and balances (glorious leader Yautja has decreed they have to be shot for 10 seconds to go down while they aim head and HPC you if you even the playing field with stims).

Xenos never change, they’re never allowed to RP, and they always whine if a queen isn’t full sweat. The queen of which is usually playing nomad queen, of which forces both sides to sit around waiting for her to screech to do anything.

So, all of that are complaints, but the thing is that those complaints slowly fester and get to people from every angle. Marines get mad they can’t contribute as well individually, Xenos get bored of the same thing and get mad if something gets buffed against them, whitelists get mad because nobody likes them outside of whitelists anymore (more indifferent really). Eventually you get left with the players that are max optimizing sweats and those people are just born bitter and unhappy, they want to win, and they get mad if they don’t.

Vanderlin is already a no-ERP fork, they still have furries so the cancer has infected it. If any time soon if Ook croaks it wiill likely turn into a regular grimshart codebase.

Wasn't Harcourt the shitcoder host of the ww2 servers? Or are they the same person? I remember Harcourt.

I talked about him back when I went over Lebenstraum the first time. Harcourt was a coder and major headmin. I don't recall him being a host but I might be wrong, I wasn't very involved in the combat servers. I only knew about it since I was on good terms with Matt and the IS1/2 folks during this era and that info filtered through. Oh, and I think I have a possible address on him via an email. I think he wiped all his history at one point, but there are traces in previous data breaches.
