I said this at dinner the other night, if Chris basically DREW every single one of his homework assignments for four years no wonder he was so fucking butt hurt at graduation when the art award fairy shit all over him! I mean, damn, that is a grand number of home works all with original work in the hand drawing style, how DARE Manchester High School ignore that! And doesn't this assignment specifically say to MOUNT the illustrations ONTO the page using tape or glue? Where I come from in the grading system you would get knocked down for not completing the assignment correctly because you obviously ignored/ did not follow directions. Oh no, the Golden Autist sails on happily. The entire complement of Raider's good works here screams "Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys. And get chandler outta this school as quickly as possible"

No the work said you can draw it.

Well like I said above, I think its interesting that he used the feminine form for worker, but put a male worker.

Nah, I don't think so. He said él, which is the correct word for he, but trabajadora is the correct word for a female worker. Construcción is feminine though, so maybe he thought trabajador should agree with construcción.

I took three semesters of Spanish in college, so I'm not fluent in Spanish by any means. That's my guess on how he screwed it up.

Well, not surprised to see that Chris cant tell the difference between Spain and Mexico, although they are not even in the same continent. A spanish teacher should know better, though...(but yeah, maybe it was just letting the tard pass or not wanting to deal with Borb)

Funny that I saw this just now....because Spain is in Mexico is a popular "dumb americans" cliché, and I always tought it was an exaggeration, but just a couple of hours ago there was a How I met your mother rerun on TV with some flashback of this Ted Mosby guy visiting Spain.

.....

Featuring fucking mariachis *sigh*

Hey it could be worse. Have you seen the way Americans portray England?

You don't even need to watch anything set in England, Daphne Moon's terrible accent is proof enough.

Jesus Christ, Chris, you couldn't even get the ceremonial Mountie uniform right. It's RED, not black. Also, why is he holding black dildos? :pickle:
That's a Mountie? When I first saw it I thought it was either a firefighter (thanks to the hose) or a lumberjack (thanks to the axe).

It was probably because of the colour bleed, but it took me until the second or third picture to realize they were all Lego people. Why am I not surprised? *sigh* (To be fair, by the usual standards of Chris art, they aren't too bad.)

The thing is that Drawing takes more effort than just cutting out some magazine pictures. Chris, like electricity always takes the path of least resistance (when he can't just stress sigh and do nothing).

Funding is sometimes connected to test scores, yes. As I've mentioned in other threads, US schools are usually incredibly underfunded.

They're either underfunded. If they are well funded but still suck, someone (or a bunch of people) on the school staff is corrupt and embezzles funds for their own personal use. Plus you have shortages in certain fields which allows crappy teachers to keep their jobs etc. There are more complexities than that and I'm too lazy to type it all out.

In CWC's case I think it was slightly less of the school's fault and more of them afraid of Chris whining to the Barb and Bob and having to deal with the rabid angry couple and headaches, time and money wasted from a potential lawsuit that would follow.

Yea, it also is a problem in Canada as well with grade inflation, as well as a few other countries. So in short, someone like Chris just coasted through school, and it shows, the teachers just gave him a pass. It is a shame he didn't get some hard ass teacher in high school who would see through his bullshit.

It's a firefighter, which is bombero in Spanish.

Off topic: when I took Spanish, a student said his mom was always worrying because his dad was a very daring firefighter. The student himself went to air assault school for Army training for a few weeks during the semester. His poor mom! But that's how I know bombero means firefighter.

They probably tried. But since college isn't required like secondary education is, the school doesn't have to give a shit if you don't like their rulings.

That is why I love college. That and cheaters and plagiarists get kicked out like they should.

It's really disappointing. Not only does it belittle the efforts of the other students, but it also means that Chris was getting full validation for his "art" and none of his teachers were actually helping him to address his problems.

I know it's a long shot, but maybe things could have been different if his teachers didn't just turn the other cheek at his academic bullshit. :(
Many people here, myself included are of the opinion that Chris' teachers turned the other cheek due to Borbs litigious history. There's a fair chance that Chris' "issues" early on in school were a direct result of teachers attempting to correct his behaviour and any attempts to actually teach him were futile.

One thing that bothers me is he didn't include any women in his assignment. I get that he could use whatever professions and nationalities he wanted, but he didn't include any women. I'd at least make the assignment say you have to have three men and three women in occupations because gender is important in Spanish..

Probably because all the Lego figures he used were male Lego figures .
Did they even make gender specific legos back then? Or were they supposed to be any gender you wanted? I don't know much about legos.. he's not a very creative person so he must have gone with whatever gender the lego figure was.
That would be my guess.
