Haha of course not, the fat fuck once again threw the schedule into chaos by pulling out last minute, yet again.

This ESA was okay, it was better than the last as they brought back 24/7 streams and Stream 2. Edenal took a backseat for most of it so you didn't really get the bad vibes from the previous event, and they had a lot more actual women doing hosting and commentary but the worst part was they had an influx of american runners that were in every other run and bringing with them the GDQ style politics. and the troons.

Not sure why ESA decided to do their event when they did but it's a nonstop speedrun marathon for two months now, ESA to GDQ, to ASM, to Dogwater and then I think RTA but i'm not a faggot weeb so I dont care about that.

I remember the last time I gave GDQ a fair shot. For years I had started to notice whoever was running the event was more interested in putting men dressed like women in front of a camera and shouting "trans rights" instead of choosing entertaining or educated runners, and watching it go from a focused charity event to some sort of weird trans themed omnicause that I guess has something to do with cancer or doctors was a bit strange.

Anyway, I decided to give it one last fair shake in maybe 2019. The first stream I tuned in to, I saw a fat, greasy haired dude wearing a mini skirt, sitting like a big hoss with his legs spread, bulge visible. It was ridiculous. You can't swear any more because it's not family friendly but we can show this AGP's underwear on stream and we just carry on like it's supposed to be normal? Nah. I liked it better when it was just a bunch of sweaty autists putting on a show and making some money on the way.

Yup it got infested with theater kids tryin to appear to be some sort of mascot for the sake of charity.
It's got that DSP telethon smell to it now. Everything is an incentive and everything is a family game show now. The actual speedrunning is 3rd in priority.

No longer do we get people that play games fast. We got a bunch of staff insert and nepo nonsense going on to "showcase" random games while having this online ubislop style demonstration of Games with Friends.
Everyone sounds like they are reading a script, including the couch. Everyones trying to be a stand-up comedian and stage performer.

While this is all going on, we are constantly pelted with LETS GET SOME MONEY type of yelling bullshit and LETS GO TRANS RIGHTS to appeal to the bubbled babies in the building. It's all just props to make the place look like it's alive, accepting when its clearly some sort of communist bullshit to get the most money.

You got so much staff inserted into shit tryin to entice you to donate with this happy go friendly, Saturday Morning PBS gulla gulla island TV show nice family nonsense, just so they can all get a bigger cut in the end.

It's all astroturfed to high heavens. Wouldn't be surprised if they got a staff member being on tranny janny duty on the 4chan threads because it's also bad there too.

I've been watching since AGDQ 2014 and the dono begging this GDQ was the most obnoxious out of them all. Usually they only do that for the big marathon long incentives, but this year they did it for what felt like every single run. Even for some shitty bonus easter egg showcase. I get it's a charity event, but the hosts were constantly interrupting the runners to beg for money toward an incentive that wasn't even for the current game. At times I actually forgot what the original charity was with all the trans rights shit being yelled.

In other words, I would really prefer if they'd be quiet.

Speedrunning was an interesting fad when streaming was new and fresh. The type of people who do that are mentally unwell and end up on the troon bang wagon because it's the only way they can get validation. It was always going to end up with this same style of group taking control and making it all about themselves. Corporate sponsorship and losers wanting validation pushed this.

If someone ran a troon free speedrunning event and advertised it like that it would do well. They have alienated so many people who would be up for watching a marathon that giving them one free of all the gay shit would get support just for being clear.

I would watch this and donate to their chosen charity, and I am friends with multiple current/former speedrunners who've turned their backs on GDQ whom I know would apply to be on a tranny free and ideologically neutral show (because they've told me as much).

NASA used to be like that but it only ran for a couple of years before fizzling out.

My best guess is the amount of people watching the shows has plummeted so naturally when they're not giving money they're going to beg more.
I'm not sure if this is shown in the numbers of the viewers but it wouldn't surprise me if they are heavily botting their streams to make it look like more people are watching, the issue is that Bots cost money, and they don't give donations.

I'm not an OG or really into speedrunning but I've started watching the events live when the Caveman Chibi thing happened.
I get it now. Caveman was right. Now we have a whole room of Chibis and no one telling them to be quiet.

When they started hauling in the trannies in it was a spectacle of shit to talk about because it was new. Now almost every god damn run had one lined up there, telling us about Asiago Cheese Bagels are their favorite, FAST PANTS, and Who would have thought Santa's number 1 helper is a squirrel :^), and no one is telling these people to focus.

The only time I was able to actually relax with a run was the Remake 1 speedrun. It had the actual old GDQ feel to it.
We had Quake 1 early on to really cement how the rest of the show was going on. Shilling some black only community and it being ran by a GDQ staff member who couldn't rocket jump to save his fuckin life. QUAKE 1 speedruns were like the bread n butter of shit people like to see.

Rest of the event? Just constant loud noises and it was about money. Shame it had to go down this route.

Guess this is a good reason to watch other events like ESA.

Most of the "dedicated" speedrunners are already streamers and do their own events as a community so you can just watch those events whenever you like generally. GDQ went from once-a-year to all-the-fucking-time on top of NASA and ESA and whatever else is out there. More events are just going to be white noise unless there's an interesting angle to the event itself.

Plus, you don't even have to risk advertising the fact. If your runs are submitted for approval like GDQ, you just blacklist every troon runner. They all have social media, and they can never stop beating their dicks over trannydom. You'd almost never have one slip through.
