Reboot it every decade, from the first year of a decade to it's last have all new versions of the stories and characters, change things up, update them to reflect the times, have the characters age in real time, tell a great big story arc with a beginning middle and an end and have different fates for the characters at every ending.
Dark Knight Returns and Strikes Again are a separate continuity from the main one, so in that sense they are non-canon. If you mean non-canon from DKR, yeah that's probably for the best.I just came back from reading The Dark Knight Strikes Again. WHAT. THE. FUCK. I thought Frank's hate boner for Superman was too harsh but god damn Dick Grayson got it the worst. That comic was god damn terrible.
Going for The Long Halloween next and I'm going to pretend that events of Strikes Again is non-canon.
So who's succeeding him?![]()

I enjoyed his company and his presence immensely. Also that he would 'play the game' – he understood Bleeding Cool's place in the role of things as a critical, often mocking voice, and would sometimes even play up to it. He was also a disruptor, he wanted to shake things up to find what was better – and approach that can rub many the wrong way but often works.
Marvel did well with it for the first 40ish years. It wasn't until about the mid '90s when they started fucking up with crap like the Clone Saga, Heroes Reborn, Fall From Grace, and the like -- and incidentally all those were attempts at 'rebooting' characters. It wasn't even that continuity had become unwieldy at that point, but rather Marvel just made a lot of stupid decisions
EDIT: according to Bleeding Cool Didio was directly fired by Warner for "fostering a hostile work environment"
Could the long prophesied "house cleaning" at the Big 2 be starting?
Apparently he has a habit of doing things "my way or the highway" which rubs other creators and employees raw.So what's the real cause of death? Did he die for wokeshit or did he die for being insufficiently woke?
"Hostile work environment" has a sound like they're getting rid of a white male to replace him with someone who will put in more crippled black troons. Or he's just turned out to be the rapist all these guys are.

5G in particular has caused a schism at DC with guys like Scott Synder being violently opposed and saying it will fuck over the retailers.
Anyway, I'm just ready for Marvel and DC to die now and something fresh to replace them, but sadly I know that probably won't happen in my lifetime.
On one hand EVS is a massive drama whore on the other this wouldn't be the first time a corporate merger at Warner resulted in a struggling legacy brand being killed. * WCW *Dunno if the rumours are just advertising based on fear, or actually true, but supposedly Van Sciver said AT&T are considering closing down the publishing arm of DC Comics (that is, the entire comic book line) if 5G fails:
https://cosmicbook.news/att-closing-dc-comics-5g-ethan-van-sciver
Which would suck, since I think 5G will almost certainly fail. Even if DC doesn't totally fuck over their universe like Marvel did with Marvel NOW!, people still like Kal-El and Bruce Wayne and probably don't want to read about Johnny Everyguy filling in their shoes.
Here's to waiting and seeing if they replace 90% of their main cast with women, PoCs, LGBTs and whatever else they can think of to piss off their fanbase.
Looking it up, I think I’m gonna give it a read. I don’t think our local has it, but the used shop in town is good for ordering. I really enjoyed Preacher myself, thought the art was good and the dialogue had a better rhythm to it than most. Were you a fan of Constantine (hell movie or comic version, I thought both were good and “felt” the same)? So yeah, I like V For Vendetta (the comic version), hated HBO’s version of Watchmen, and I’m thinking about getting all six volumes of The Preacher.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone read this classic indie strip:

I’m thinking about reading this again, since it has been a few years since I saw it in my local library.
Stray Bullets was a great series IMHO. I remember hunting down single issues for a couple customers back in the day. It got pretty hot at its peak.So yeah, I like V For Vendetta (the comic version), hated HBO’s version of Watchmen, and I’m thinking about getting all six volumes of The Preacher.

I always thought the comic version of Constantine was better than the movie version.
Then again, I read it years ago, so I probably don’t remember much of it.
probably not gonna happen. What will likely happen though is that unless DC's publishing section steps its game up it might be shut down or at least hugely cut backNow Marvel's rumored to be taking over DC. Might as well shoot yourself rather than commit such a slow method of suicide.
