do they make females unattractive because they're so unfuckable themselves? like jfc gail simone has put on weight.

is there...any hope for the industry? like at all? I try not to stay not be too cautiously optimistic about anything these days but that doesn't meant i want entire mediums like comics to collapse and be left with nothing.

Has Hickman put out anything thats just bad? I haven't read all his stuff but I enjoyed Secret War and most of the stuff leading up to it. His xmen stuff is strange and interesting enough to have kept me reading for a bit.
It seems like he'll at least get to wrap up a major piece of what he's doing with Inferno, where the whole Moira/Mystique/Destiny thing is supposed to come to a head. I agree with the general consensus here, though. I read the first couple issues of the new Gerry Duggan main X-Men book, and it's not bad, it's a perfectly acceptable X-Men team book, but the Hickman stuff got me interested because it was so much more than that. I was happy to ignore loose ends like the Gorgon thing folks have brought up because what he was doing overall when House/Powers kicked it all off was just so fucking crazy. Same with Planet-Size X-Men. Totally nuts and I loved it for that. If the franchise goes back to a safe and stable status quo I'm tuning out.

i remember reading a comic once about old thieves, like 70-80 year old thieves/bank robbers.

was like four of em. i bring it up because i remember being amused by it but i never finished it and i don't remember what the fuck it was called.

so if anyone has any idea what the fuck i'm on about, please let me know.

Could you have been reading a comic adaption of Pratchett's Cohen the Barbarian?

I'd say that was Harry and the Wrinklies, but as far as I know that was just a book and TV show, and never got a comic adaptation...

read it in the last two years I believe.

one of the old man thieves was a short fat guy, like danny devito, and he had a bunch of hawaiian themed tattoos all over his body.

oh nice, this should be fun at least.

please don't let bendis or tamaki near this ffs.

What film was based on Gail Simone's work? Birds of Prey was a mutant abortion of Chuck Dixon and Palmiotti/Conner's work.

She's written scripts for DC animated stuff dating back to, sadly, JLU. I can only imagine they tard wrangled and fixed up her offerings.

We fast approaching Images 40th anniversary! After SJWs succeeded in ruining the American comics after decades of undermining them, perhaps no group outside of them caused greater damage than the Image gang. I'm going to post about them because fuck it, why not?

Image Origins.

The actual origin of Image proper is fucking boring. Sanded down, it was a bunch of extremely well compensated, grown ass men wanting more money.

Lost in the conversation is that a number of the Image creators prior to the speculator boom worked for years with mere mortal sales.

Todd McFarlane worked at DC on Infinity Inc, Marc Silvestiri on Conan.

Jim Lee would do Alpha Flight.

Image Marvel separates into two eras. The first era was were lightening hit, as the speculator collided with top Marvel characters Shooter and the prior generation built.

Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, and While Portacio hitched on Chris Claremont's X-Men, McFarlane and Larsen on Amazing Spider-man built by Roger Stern and Stan Lee.

It's the latter half of Image Marvel where the problems began. McFarlane's adjectiveless Spidey, Liefeld X-Force.

His web-line, advantageous!

The others were mostly smart enough not to write, until Image proper that is. :smug:

i found the comic. it's called "The Old Geezers"

it apparently got 5 issues and hasn't been updated since 2019.
I was about to suggest Old Geezers, but thieves thing made me think that it couldn't be it. At least they were not revealed to be thieves in the two volumes I read. There is a 6th volume released in French, but it was not translated to English just yet. It seems like many French comics released in 2020 are slow to get translated. It could be due to pandemic. Amazon's recent announcements could have something to do with it too, since European publishers used it as their main platform.

well keep in mind i read it two years ago. i just remembered it was about old people who were something. my brain filled in thieves.

@GoPro

To make matters worse, search will be cluttered with normal Amazon results for physical books, merchandise, and fake listings.

I can't say much about how comics will be categorized in future, but this quote sounds like browsing through Amazon's website. I've never noticed anything like that on the kindle app.

Also, why is there no quote button on that post?

I notice how it says feminist and not women.

Looks like Mark Waid is working on a mature-readers Superman title according to Bryan Hitch. I have... mixed feelings. Kingbaby Waid has a completely toxic attitude and the majority of his work over the last decade has been utterly horrid, but I liked Superman: Birthright and thought his Death Metal Superman short was decent.
remember when waid wasn't insane due to twitter? i miss those days.
