What's even more depressing is chihuahuas have a remarkably long lifespan for dogs - they can live up to 20 years or longer (the oldest I've seen was a 22 year old chi) if they're happy and healthy. While it's true chihuahuas tend to be one person dogs and can get anxious around other dogs, the majority of that behavior has to do with how you treat and socialize your pet. Slight PL but I have a chihuahua myself around the same age as Twinkie and he's more than happy to interact with other animals and people because he wasn't coddled like a baby doll.
