Actual return of the Voice Actress of Thatcher was a bit of a surprise.
 
Sorry for the Double post, but I've just watched Part 1 of the Election Special (Part 2 hasn't appeared online yet).

Not very much about the US election considering the title, the writers were too focused on that kind of funny Billionaire race to Mars or just getting in more limp jabs against the Tories. Foxman Kier Starmer was pretty funny, as was Prince Harry being accused of election fraud, but still kind of weak.

EDIT: Found Part 2. Again, not very focused on the US election besides the Joe Biden being a fry cook arc. More of Bezos, Musk and Branson on Mars which was just lame and Mitch McConnell packing the court with terrible judges reeked of sour grapes. Harry and Meghan being terrible parents was funny though.

I will say that the sketches with Greta Thunberg and the boyfriend are probably the best this show has to offer. It's kind of charming to see Greta being forced to do regular teenager stuff.

This is basically political crank yankers with better looking puppets. I loved crank yankers. and the jabbing seems even handed ( and man they had hate Henry and Markles)
 
Just watched this week's episode:

The good:
James Corden got shot. Twice.
Donald Trump eating Mayor McCheese was hilarious.
The Succession parody with the Royal Family was good, even if it hinged on an ancient joke, but Charles attempting to sell the monarchy to the Chinese made it worth it.
The Foxman sketches with Keir Starmer continue to amuse
Jacinda Ardern appears again, allowing the writers to actually approach some good fuckin' satire.
The James Bond song was pretty funny and extremely accurate.

The bad:
They're continuing with that played out billionaires on Mars arc.
The new James Bond actor sketches can amuse, but they're just filler.
The writers really love their Adele puppet I guess as it appears at bizarre moments.

The meh:
Huh, I guess they're locked in with that Joe Biden being a demented fry cook personality...Old Spitting Image would have ran with the hair sniffing thing.

I love how the YouTube vids aren't available in the UK, but also, no-one's uploaded the new episode anywhere either, suggesting to me that even pirates are saying this isn't worth stealing.

EDIT: It's finally been uploaded. Only one sketch made me chuckle and that was the one that points out just how fucking boring musicians are these days.

Odds of this just pretty much ending because Trump won't be getting a second term? I've really just seen a few episodes of this new series and the writers seem to only throw softballs at leftwing and left-adjacent figures.

They've already got a second season, and they no longer need to pander to the Yanks as NBC are super mega pussies, so I can just see them targeting Boris even more than they do now.

But yeah, I say keep on at them for being soft to lefties. The fact the Jimmy Krankee puppet only appeared last week and even then they didn't mention the trouble she's in regarding Salmond's sexual assault charges just shows the bias.

Also liked the writers implying that Greta Thunberg just needs to get laid, Jacina Ardern sketches are always their strongest material even if it's the same joke and the writers just calling Harry Styles a mega-faggot.

I think Foxman has run ot's course, it was kind of funny the first couple of times but it's (ironically) laboured now. And why the fuck is Adele in Joe Biden's cabinet? The puppet is shit
 
Just watched it, the new series suffers from the same problems as the last, it's just completely toothless.

Kamala and Charles singing about their struggles with hoping someone above them has a heart attack was kind of funny, but then they had to bring in James Cordon, who is totally superfluous anyway.
The Santa Barbarians sketch could have had promise, but it was ultimately too nice to the celebrities and had a tired height joke about Tom Cruise, Gwyneth Paltrow also continues to be a one-joke puppet.

JUST DO SOMETHING WITH THE PRINCE ANDREW PUPPET THAT'S NOT SMACKING HIM OVER THE HEAD WITH A 2X4. IT'S NOT FUNNY NOW.
Also shooting Joe Wicks in the head again? It just comes across as mean-spirited rather than funny. Even if the rest of the surrounding sketch ('Yeah, but the pubs are open again!') was pretty good.

Highlight was the naked mole rats complaining they don't get enough representation on David Attenborough shows.
