Here's some last minute recommendations for Halloween. These are movies that from a good number of classic horror directors that I think get overlooked in favor of their more popular work. There's some borderline things on here (In The Mouth of Madness and Videodrome have a respectable following now, but are so good that they need to be mentioned regardless) but everything is pretty good and worth seeing.
John Carpenter:
Wes Craven (if you like Nightmare on Elm Street, go back and watch this one. It flopped but it's pretty fucking good and way smarter than it has any right to be):

Dario Argento (if you've already seen Suspiria. If you haven't, go watch Suspiria):
