Automata won a shitzillion awards and Taro could make his next game with whomever and write his own ticket. People finally woke up to how wonderfully weird he is and that he just sucks at gameplay design.

To a certain degree; as I said, the Taro games in which he was more involved with gameplay design are really not a lot of fun to play unless you're an autist masochist like me (and, in the case of Drakengard 3, they also run like dogshit). But Taro brought in people he was familiar with for the art and music, which I've seen praised just as much as the writing and hacky-slashy.
Honestly I just think it was Cavia (or Access) holding him back because fuck have you played Drakengard 2? I hate myself but I'd rather pound nails into my scrotum than try to unlock all three endings for that game again.

I’d say the Automata model of development suits him best: he does the writing and creative directing, Platinum makes it fun.
He came close to making Nier 1 fun, but even that was kinda janky (albeit, admirably jank)

That scene was dumb. Why in the ever living fuck would a brawler punchy character suddenly get into a slap fight with the evil bond villainess simply because shes a woman? Punch that bitch in the stomach so I can see her getting her just desserts.
In fact you know what? Change it into an solo fight sequence where Scarlett actually fights. Make her like the sexy temptress ninja character. Have her pull daggers out of her dress and make the player wonder where shes storing all of them. That scene has so much potential now in the remake.
Also they said they expanded it. Good. More of Cloud being a dork and looking awkward is a good thing.
Yoko Taro has the ability get up and walk imo. He can write any game he wants mainly because most of his Drakengard and Nier games are self contained stories. He can just go to another studio that will give him all the freedom he wants.
Theres plenty of that if you know where to find it.

It's not a "new" change. This has actually been consistent since literally every single work she's been in since FF7. She was always supposed to be athletic with a side of curvy. Literally every fucking game since her first appearance was in line with her official art.
So where's this "Tifa had enormous boobs" thing come from? Her fucking character models in FF7, which literally have never been consistent. To writ: Her map model is a chibi, her battle model is busty, but still within acceptable parameters, her highrest model is a mod of the battle model, and the guilty party behind all of this is her CGI Model from the cutscenes, where Tifa is portrayed thus:
If I had to hazard a guess as to any other guilty parties, I'd blame Ehrgeiz, whose version of Tifa was based entirely off her highres model from FF7. I know a lot of people are worried about censorship and shit right now, but a decade and a half of games show she's not supposed to be XBOX HUEG.
I'd be more worried about the huge arsenal of gay jokes that are probably getting the axe in FF7.
